I've had several wired headsets and these are so far the best. The others I've had provide weak bass and overall sound. The good thing is that you can update them via the Xbox and not have to struggle with a Windows PC which I don't have.

This was a gift for my brother for call of duty black ops 6 gameplay. The headset worked straight out of the box, then my brother launched a dolby atmos app that did a little visual / audio representation of where sounds should come from for you to test the functionality and he said he could tell where everything was coming from so he's happy - that's the whole point of these headphones. The fact that worked with in mere -seconds- after opening the box and it automatically connects to the xbox is another big selling point. He originally bought a 400 pair of headphones that required an HDMI connection to a newer TV model but that ALSO had a 2nd HDMI to go to the xbox but the TV he had only had 1port... Things like this aren't presented on the description for headphones so anyways those ones didn't work so it caused some anxiety over spending big on headphones to just not work again. The main thing is that it works well. I don't have any disconnects while playing unlike the turtle beach 700 one I had. I like how the mic can bend back easily if not being used but the mute mic button can sometimes be difficult to find and press at first while wearing it. I enjoy the big roll dial of master volume and big roll dial of chat vs game volume as it's very unique and very easy to adjust without having to take it off my head.     • Cheap look and feel, unconfortable, and unreliable.
The sound quality is good, and that's where it ends. These headphones are junk. Right out of the box, they feel like cheap plastic with loose knobs. The headband is very stiff, making it difficult to adjust, but it dose stay put. They seem to lock in place, so you can't make any adjustments when you're wearing them. The earcups don't rotate and the padding on the headband is very firm making these pretty unconfortable to wear even for shorter caming sessions. The dial controls on the earcups are too big and loose so they are constantly being bumped and adjusted when you dont intend to. You can't even put on or take off the headphones without accidentily adjusting the volume dials. The mute button is, for some reason, on the same side as the power, and very close to it. The two buttons are distinctive, but a quick mute/unmute during gaming, regularly caused the power button to be pressed. The mic light also turns on white when active, a bit of a departure from the red mute indicator on most headsets. If the price point was 50% lower, I'd say due to the sound quality and connectivity these might make an okay gaming option, but there are much better options at the same price point as these. Also, due to the difficulty in making adjustments, these wont be headphones you want to be shared in household. Last point I'll make, connectivity wasn't as easy as I'd hoped. These required an update before use right out of the box. They didn't connect the first time I tried to play a game with them. After finally getting them working, it was hit and miss. You'd turn them on and they'd connect within about a minute one time, the next they wouldn't connect, or the mic audio wouldn't work. Overall pretty poor experience for a pair of Microsoft Xbox headphones connected to a Microsoft Xbox. ... show more

    • Most affordable headset with most amount of features
Good Xbox gaming headset at a very affordable price. Very impressive to me that it can simultaneously connect to the Xbox and a smartphone. The dials on each side of the headset are amazing and such an intuitive feature. Microphone also functions fantastically and is easily used for phone calls on your phone or Xbox parties. Only complaints I have, I have to max out the size adjustment on the headset, because I have a huge head. Also, it deals with some connectivity issues but I think that's only because my girlfriend also has an Xbox nearby and it might be interfering with the signal. After buying several sets and returning all of them I splurged on the brand name and don’t regret it. They are comfy, have good audio, mic is clear, and I love that there’s a light that tells you if the mic is on. Great Headset! Volume control on right side. Volume level adjustment on left, to control how much talking you hear vs gameplay. This set is much better than the thirty dollar set I had before. The sound is much more vibrant, and has a fully adjustable eq.
