  • Great price, great product
Incredibly underrated headset. I read a lot of reviews on here and some of them made absolutely no sense, almost felt like they were reviewing something else. This headset is NOT cheaply made, at all, in fact it feels very premium. I've used 3-4 headsets in the 250+ dollar range and I got to say the only thing cheap about this headset is the price. The sound is amazing as well as the mic. My only gripe with it is the fact you gotta break it in, this thing is tight. No wires and 20 hour life is insane quality of life, no more plugging stuff into the bottom of your controller. The fact it's also automatically synched with the Xbox is also great, I love compatibility like this. ... show more

  • Microsoft nailed it — clean audio, great comfort, zero hassle
I've used a lot of gaming headsets over the years across multiple platforms and the Xbox Wireless Carbon Black has quietly become one of my favorites. Microsoft clearly put actual thought into this one instead of just slapping a logo on generic hardware. Wireless pairing with Xbox is instant — hold the button, it connects, you're done. No dongles, no drivers, no fighting with Bluetooth. Range is solid too; I can walk around the room without dropout. On PC via Xbox Wireless Adapter it's equally painless. Audio quality is genuinely good. The soundstage is wide enough for positional audio in competitive games, and music and dialogue come through cleanly without the over-boosted bass that plagues a lot of gaming headsets trying to sound "powerful." It's a balanced, honest sound signature that works well across gaming, chat, and media. The mic performs well for voice chat — clear pickup, decent noise rejection, and it mutes when flipped up which is a small but appreciated detail. No separate mute button to fumble for mid-game. Comfort is excellent for extended sessions. The earcups are well padded, clamp pressure is reasonable, and the headband doesn't dig in after an hour. I've worn these through multi-hour sessions without wanting to tear them off. Battery life is strong — easily getting 15+ hours per charge in real use. The USB-C charging is a welcome modern touch. If you're on Xbox or PC and want a no-fuss wireless headset that just works and sounds good doing it, this is the one to get. ... show more

  • Outperforms other headsets
The is easily the best gaming headset for Xbox. Outperforms other headsets I have owned from big manufacturers like Turtle Beach at less than half the price. High-quality, and well-made. This will be my 2nd one, with my first one lasting about four years with constant use. Great quality, great sound, syncs right away with your cell phone and Xbox simultaneously. Got it marked down on Amazon for $90, an absolute steal. This is now my go-to for Xbox headsets ... show more

  • Surprisingly Decent
For an Xbox product, and the price point, they're pretty good. They have a sturdy feel to them, the plastic is of higher quality, and the cushion on the ears are nice. They are a little tight, though, and you can feel some strain after playing for about an hour, but their adjustability is good, and can get pretty long, if your head is slightly bigger than average. The sound quality is good as well, nice mix of different sounds that can be heard, nice mids and highs, especially when you enable the Dolby Atmos on the Xbox for the headset. Out of the box, it leans high into bass, so if that's not your speed, you might want to tweak it a little in the Accessories app. They have some decent charge too. They hold about 20 hours of charge, maybe a little less depending on your volume, and charge up to max in about 3 hours. Then there's connectivity. Upon the first few hours of use, I experienced some issues with the headset where it would disconnect mid game. After a quick reconnect, though, they didn't really experience much issue after that. Some people also seem to report audio cut outs, so I'm not sure, could be a mixed bag in that area. Overall, they are a nice little piece of technology with dedicated Xbox connection. Just keep in mind the tighter fit and potential audio issues once in a while. ... show more

  • Cheap look and feel, unconfortable, and unreliable.
The sound quality is good, and that's where it ends. These headphones are junk. Right out of the box, they feel like cheap plastic with loose knobs. The headband is very stiff, making it difficult to adjust, but it dose stay put. They seem to lock in place, so you can't make any adjustments when you're wearing them. The earcups don't rotate and the padding on the headband is very firm making these pretty unconfortable to wear even for shorter caming sessions. The dial controls on the earcups are too big and loose so they are constantly being bumped and adjusted when you dont intend to. You can't even put on or take off the headphones without accidentily adjusting the volume dials. The mute button is, for some reason, on the same side as the power, and very close to it. The two buttons are distinctive, but a quick mute/unmute during gaming, regularly caused the power button to be pressed. The mic light also turns on white when active, a bit of a departure from the red mute indicator on most headsets. If the price point was 50% lower, I'd say due to the sound quality and connectivity these might make an okay gaming option, but there are much better options at the same price point as these. Also, due to the difficulty in making adjustments, these wont be headphones you want to be shared in household. Last point I'll make, connectivity wasn't as easy as I'd hoped. These required an update before use right out of the box. They didn't connect the first time I tried to play a game with them. After finally getting them working, it was hit and miss. You'd turn them on and they'd connect within about a minute one time, the next they wouldn't connect, or the mic audio wouldn't work. Overall pretty poor experience for a pair of Microsoft Xbox headphones connected to a Microsoft Xbox. ... show more

  • Very good sound for the price
Build feels solid, mic sounds pretty good, it's quite comfy(a little discomfort on the top of the head but I'm sure it's just getting used too and breaking it in), and I'm blown away by the sound. It's a little bass heavy but you can tune it in the settings. Seriously though these sound better than my $150 Sennheiser's that aren't gaming headphones. Really impressed. Great soundstage and it really feels like a home theater on the ears. Will say I had an issue with the mic not working in game even though I could hear it on the monitor but it seems to be fixed after talking with support and doing a power refresh cycle where I took the account off, powered down and unplugged everything from the Xbox, waited 2 minutes, started it up and added back the account but made sure not to import the old settings when prompted. The service guy said that something may have become corrupted. It seems too be working now! Will keep you posted! ... show more
