  • The greater cost?
Size: X-Life 100 count Pattern Name: Blades
There are other exacto blades out there but buy these and save! These may cost more but the metal is a a more durable temper (can be sharpened too) and they are sharper and stay sharper than the less expensive brands.

  • Made in China, not USA
Size: X-Life 100 count Pattern Name: Blades
I use my knife for model kits and cleaning 3d prints. Personally, I don't care since there are so many blades that I can replace them, but they are definately made in China, not USA. The tips break easier, the metal is more discolored, and the oil seems cruddier than those in smaller Xacto packs I've bought at local hobby stores. It also says China on the back of the package. Never a fan of false advertising, but for the price, you get a good number of blades. ... show more

  • A little pricey, but retain an edge FAR longer that the Nicpro knock-offs.
Size: X-Life 100 count Pattern Name: Blades
Originally, we were using these, then tried Nicpro for the savings... but these stay sharp for 3-4x longer, so even though they are probably still more expensive, it gets a bit annoying, constantly changing blades. Back to these!

  • not sure
Size: X-Life 100 count Pattern Name: Blades
Like others have said - they are OK but not sure they are up to X-Acto quality. They do not last as long as the smaller #11 blade packs I have gotten. The ones in the tiny black plastic box.

  • Not for paper or Foam Core!
Size: X-Life 100 count Pattern Name: Blades
These are a great value, however they will rip and tear paper and foam core materials. These may work for carving plastics like styrene. If you need to cleanly slice paper or foam-core, you will need to spend more for the stainless steel blades. • Sharpest most dependable surgical blade ever made
Size: X-Life 100 count Pattern Name: Blades
I started using X-Acto knives when I was 11 (1963) for building and customizing model car kits and other hobbies. This was the knife that my older brother used for his own custom car models. When I became a graphic designer in 1975, X-Acto knives were the most critical art tool and an industry standard. We didn't have computers then and cut everything by hand for print reproduction art. No other brand of blades were ever used in the advertising and graphics industry. I have used them continually since then as a lighting and furniture designer and builder for the last 30 years. All totalled, I've used X-Acto #11 blades professionally and virtually every day in my studio for 46 years. I could not imagine my professional life without them. ACCEPT NO SUBSTITUTES! EVER. Competitor's blades are useless. They are nowhere near as sharp and they lose their point immediately. I've found that #11 blade is THE most versatile of all the X-Acto blade shapes and that the "hobby" blades offered by X-Acto are oddly shaped and uncomfortable to work with. The #11 DOES IT ALL, which is why it's the #1 art industry standard. Also, not a single poorly made blade in the 46 years I've used them. ... show more
