I bought this when I bought my cutter, because you got a much better price if you bought as a package. Little did I know that I would get through 2400 sq ft of flooring on the original blade. I didn't even flip the blade for a fresh edge until around 2000 sq ft. Be aware these are incredibly sharp and slice through vinyl plank with little efffort.     • I am getting "crumbly" edges
The blade that came with the device, I refer to as the guillotine, made nice crisp cuts to the flooring. I did my entire upstairs, around 1300 Sq ft with the first blade. I wanted a fresh blade for the first floor so I bought this. The blade does not come with instructions, and I did not have the instructions for the device handy. So, I took a guess at how the blade is installed but quickly realized that it was backwards, as it did not line up with the groove at the bottom of the device. After I flipped the blade over things lined up as they should and I started in on my new floor. However, it seemed to take more effort to cut through the flooring and I was getting a ragged edge on the boards. The lines are still nice and straight. I don't know if this is an issue with the installation or if this blade is not as sharp as the original. The crumbling that I am seeing is nothing that cannot be removed by rubbing your hand over it, but I don't recall getting this effect with the original blade, especially when it was new. Having this blade and the device is still a huge time saver over trying to get out a saw every time I need to shorten a board, but I don't feel like it is working as well as it did originally. ... show more
