This billet of Damascus was honestly better than I was expecting it to be after reading other reviews. It showed up FAST too, especially considering I live in Alaska and shipping is slow here. Perfectly straight, no wierd cuts or gouges like everyone complained about and it most certainly wasn’t pre-hardened like I read in other comments… Maybe I got lucky and got the one good one but man for the price I will 100% be buying more from them… Also it looked incredible after acid etching. ... show more

I’ve purchased this steel several times. The patterns are very discernible. Steel came annealed so it was easy to work with. It hardened perfectly on the first try. I had no warping or cracking issues. I will continue to use this for my knife making needs.

Good value for price. You can tell it is handmade, do to non-parallel sides and minor inclusions, that could be worked around. Came not hardened, so it was easy to work. Just needed to heat treat after shaping... Good Quality.

This billet was excellent. It came hardened but I put a heat treat on it myself to be confident and there were no delaminations or cracks. I am really pleased with it.

First billet had delamination issues that were not able to grind out. Second billet I received a LED shower head instead. Returned and bought another. This billet completely separated in two spots during forging. These might be ok if just cutting a blank but not good with forging. Way behind on the knife now. ... show more

Solid stuff, came heat treated. Pattern could be a little cleaner, but compared to what most American damascus makers charge, it's a bargain at literally half the price. And in my case, it shipped same day. Compared to a minimum four week wait period for some damascus makers here in the US, that really helped on a tight deadline. ... show more

Well, this is my second time ordering from Poshland and man, this one was an absolute disappointment. Not only was the corner ground off as if it had been used before, but the billet had 3 distinct extremely large delams. Poor quality

This stuff will not harden over 40HRC but it says otherwise in listing. The pattern is very nice. Above 40HRC is not necessary on a larger blade like a seaux which is what i bought this for.
