I purchased this item in August of 2023. Out of the box the camcorder worked fine good video quality and sound. But after only two uses setup on a tripod the sound went out. You can record video all you want. But that is of little use to me without sound. All necessary batteries are charged and in good working order. So I would say after having the unit for only 5 months and being used just twice i can’t recommend anyone to buy this unit. When I unboxed the unit I ran it through the ordinary tests. Do the batteries charge, does the camcorder record is the sound functioning. Everything went fine camcorder was packed away till its use for Christmas and the New Year. I bought this Camera to use with OBS for getting my podcast onto YouTube. I did my research and found that all i really needed was 1080P at 30FPS with an ISO above 400 to make a quality still video. This camera can do this. But only this. to start off the camera has an HDMI out which is great! its pulls full 1080P and looks halfway decent. But the way it goes about it is all wrong!! All the camera does is mirror the screen. not the image the camera is taking. so in order to record from the HDMI out you wind up having the entire menu overlay in your recording. (before a single soul says you can turn this off...YOU. CAN. NOT!!!) Next the issue lies with videos stored to the SD card... they are 720P..and Grainy..you turn up the sharpness and try to pull a little gamma out to make the grain fall away into the dark spots of your recording...nope...its just adjusts what color the "grains" are. Pure useless trash for anything professional. my main issue lies with this. The option to record directly to OBS via USB is there. The only problem is this camera only records in 720P over USB. To add to this the image is so grainy and fuzzed out that even post processing with OBS to clear it up is useless. you wind up with a sharp grainy video that looks like it was shot with a Iphone 3G. All in all i really wanted to like this camera, i tried and tried everything to get it work or to adapt it to work for my needs. but honestly the manufacture lies in the description. the only way to get 1090P out of this thing is to use the HDMI out option (all other options are 720P) but you cannot record anything of worth because the cameras overlay is in front of everything you try to record. (once again there is 0 option to turn the overlay off). If you are looking to use this as a professional camera of any kind (and i mean to even basic stream with) look elsewhere because this thing is a slapped together hunk of junk that barely does what its advertised to do. ... show more

This is a basic camera for the price. While it has most basic features, the image quality is disappointedly grainy and the sound quality is terrible. Whenever I record a video, both with and without the microphone, the camera produces a strange buzzing noise like a train rumbling over train tracks. And I can't edit out or get rid of the weird sound. This was meant as a gift, so when the camera was found defective, it was already outside the return window. When I contacted the seller, they made it sound as if I had caused the problem? Anyways, I'm never going to buy a cheap camera like this again and foolishly waste $100. ... show more

Double the price and you can get a real camcorder you can rely on if you care at all about what you're recording. The picture quality is slightly above bad but not good enough for close ups of things, nor does it have good stabilization. I have had the issue many have had where a video over 6-10 minutes gets corrupted or stops recording. I have also had terrible luck with the included mic attachment, which looks neat but ended up removing all audio. It might have been plugged in the wrong way but that would only be the case if the jack was damaged or of the unreliable kind you need to angle just right to get it to work. The infared feature does work pretty well, and I haven't seen it on many cameras. The range is not far but if you want to make basic horror movie edits or take it for a night walk, it will do the trick. Just use something else to capture audio completely separate from the camera. Ultimately, if your kid wants a camera and doesnt do anything important or need the footage, its an alright gift. ... show more

The video quality is pretty solid. I'm still trying to figure out how to operate it fully, but the one thing I tried to do is charge the batteries. They died on me pretty fast where I needed 2 batteries for 2 hours of recording and barely made it through 2 hours. Still not sure how yo charge though so I'm waiting on someone to answer that question. If you buy this: make sure you use the wire that goes from the mic to the 1/8 in. plug on the camera or you'll have terrible sound. Also make sure you buy a SSD card and make sure it is a large storage one because it will fill up fast. When playing the videos back, make sure you give it time to upload to your final storage device. I found the videos get cutoff on playback. I thought there was an issue with the ssd card or the camera but it just didn't fully load the files. ... show more
