  • Perfect replacement sensors for my Raspberry Pi 4 dog-potty alert system! Perfect replacement sensors for my Raspberry Pi 4 dog-potty alert system!
I built a smart home system using a Raspberry Pi 4 and Picar-x so that when my dog approaches the window to go potty outside, it plays a voice alert saying "Please open the door." The previous sensor I used was way too sensitive, causing too many false alarms, so I bought this 5-pack of HC-SR501 compatible PIR sensors as a replacement. These sensors work beautifully! Since they allow you to adjust the sensitivity and time delay directly on the module, I was able to fine-tune it perfectly for my dog's movements. They integrate seamlessly with the Pi 4, and having a pack of 5 gives me great value and spares for future DIY projects. ... show more

  • Good sensors
Great motion modules. Sometimes I really don't want to wait for AliExpress and found these to be similarly priced, and shipped very fast. Good value for the money, they are very sensitive (which is good) and were easy to install into my ESP32 meshtatic application.

  • Very poor quality.
The quality is so shoddy. It's a good thing they sell these in a 5-pack, because at least 3 will not work right. If you buy these, plan on spending an hour or so thoroughly testing every single one to make sure it works right.

  • A Passive InfraRed (PIR) sensor. Has worked great for my Raspberry Pi camera project. A Passive InfraRed (PIR) sensor. Has worked great for my Raspberry Pi camera project.
The kit comes with two plexiglass mounts (with screws and bolts), 8 inch (200mm) male to female connector wires, and female to female connector wires. There is also a cute little screwdriver. The picture here shows the pinouts for connecting to a microcontroller and the two potentiometers used for adjusting ranges and sensitivity. The yellow jumper is used to select how the sensor operates. If you want the sensor to stay active all of the time when there is motion in front of it, you place the jumper on "High". If you want the sensor to detect motion and then turn off, you use the "Low" position. Mine came from the factory in the "Low" position. ... show more
