Truly love this hammer for workin leather. The surfaces of the hammer are very smooth and leave no marks on the leather as long as you’re doing your dang job and holdin it right. I had to get a new one once my grandson “borrowed” my old one and dinged up the surfaces on metal. I just chuckled, and got me a new one. He means more to me than any danged old hammer by a long shot. Although this one is kept up outta his reach now. ... show more

Great hammer for bookbinding. I did wrap the handle in leather, as I found the wood handle less than ergonomic, but that is merely personal preference. The faces are smooth and well made, no slop or major defects
