The liner shorts fit like boyshort undies so just be aware of that. I got my usual size small and they fit very comfortable. I got these to wear kayaking and over swimsuits and they'll work great for that. If I was wearing them generally out in public I'd probably be more comfortable in a medium for a little more coverage since the top layer doesn't hang lower than the inner. I ordered the peach color expecting a lighter pink-coral. It is definitely not that. They're more of a dusty rose color.
