Really spins my 7.3. Only issue is the the external parts are moved around on the outside from the stock design. You can reach the top bolt with an extension. It's a blind bolt but the new starter has the solenoid mounted right infront of it. Make sure the threads on the truck and the bolt are clean because you have to screw it in by hand then wrench it in 1/8 to 1/16 increments ... show more

95 ford E350 with 7.3 with 314k miles had problems starting. would crank and crank and just didn't seem to have enough. had to use ether to get going. replaced the batteries as well. finally the starter went out. did a little looking and saw this. read the reviews and figured i'd give it a shot. totally worth the extra money!! i'm so happy i decided to give it a try. she fires up instantly now! i can't say this enough, buy this if you are having issues starting your old diesel! **my neighbor installed this for me and said it was pretty easy to install. only thing he said was that he had to tighten the hard to reach bolt on top first to get it to sit properly** ... show more

By far the heftiest starter I have ever installed. Installed on my 1999 F350 Powerstroke. Works beautifully. The new positioning allows for easier access to the wiring, but makes access to the top bolt really difficult. Still worth it though. Hint: Remove wheel splash guard and use a swivel socket and wrench along with a 4" extension. Good luck. ... show more

If your tired of lazy starters on your 7.3 pleas just buy this. 4 year old batteries, would never start using the stock starter, this one cranks and starts like it's 80 degrees outside.
