It’s just plastic but if you are looking for a dash to put on top of the stretched tank covers from advanblack this WILL work!! You will need to modify it slightly to make it sit right. If using on stretched tank covers you will HAVE to get a 10/24 x 5/8 long button cap screw for the front as the stock screw will be too short. The rear mounting bracket will need to be bent up slightly on the bent down towards the frame then the mounting flange bent down. I also cut it from the back edge up into the mounting hole to give it a little more adjustability then put 2 washers between the bracket and the frame so you’re not flexing it so much that it breaks the dash. The best way to do it is just put the cap on the tank then keep bending the bracket slightly till you get the cap to line up with the hole the best. Also only use one flat gasket and the round seal gasket to get the cap to sit flush. DO NOT crank down the front screw just throw a little lock tight on it and get it down far enough that the front settles onto the tank. Also on the rear bracket to avoid the “poking through” issue just add one lock washer to each one. It will space it enough that it won’t poke through the plastic on the front and also helps secure the screws to the bracket better so they won’t come out. Over all I think it looks great you just need to spend a little time moving things around to make it a perfect fit. As far as using it on a stock tank I would assume it will slip right on as the rear bracket is identical to the factory Harley bracket. Just remember to still use a 10/24 x 5/8 on the front.

Does not line up with gas cap once installed. Shipping was fast and price was good. Quality was not. It is made from plastic that does not seem like it will stand the test on time. Would not recommend

Purchased knowing it was a problematic part. My stock console fits crooked and I’m blaming HD for it. This one needed the metal bracket cut away to have a U shaped notch at the bolt so that it moves forward enough to match the opening with the fuel cap. Took a dremel with a burr to the hole up front for the hex capped screw into the tank, adding a stainless washer for good measure. Used the stock console’s rubber side strips. Wound up using only one rubber washer to make the cap sit flush when it’s screwed down in place. My seat fits better with the smaller console profile. Also added washers on the two screws on the bracket underside- so they didn’t bottom out . Was nice to see brass nutserts used on this. I was prepared to set my own if need be. Still a better deal versus $230+ on a plastic painted console that’s never in stock.

It was a good value for the money. It is better looking than the stock one that comes on the bike however the fit of the cap is a little off. Really easy to install with just a few bolts to remove and a little clean up. I have had it on my bike for over a year and the color is holding up well.

I personally feel that for the price, THIS looks SOOO much better than the stock tank console my HD came with- that Sun-reflecting chrome gas cap MIRROR that only opens PART-WAY was a stupid design from the start. THIS looks sharp, and the flush-mounted black cap included are great. NO MORE gas cap LID in the way, and no more blinding Sun relecting up into my eyes. To restate, it's not a hundreds of dollars part, it's an inexpensive trim piece for looks only- be patient with it and adjust top & bottom screws a little at a time, and it'll look great & function well.
