I got this for myself to learn how to do basic, outline tattoos. I love how lightweight the gun itself is. Since I’m not sure what to expect as it’s my first one; I definitely have enjoyed it. The needle doesn’t feel rough or weird on my skin. I feel that I can have a good grip at all times so I don’t have to worry about it getting too heavy if I’m holding it for a long time. I got mine in red and love the color! It comes with its own needles and some ink, practice “skin” and wrap, etc. the “skin” definitely doesn’t prepare you as much for skin contact, but helped me get used to the needle and how to make sure the depth was deep enough to actually make a tattoo. for me, personally, the colors didn’t show up too well on darker skin but showed up okay on lighter toned (this is my biggest peeve). So I had to order ink elsewhere (that’s ok). There are outline & shading needles. I’ve only used the outline needles and have had no issues. I've been a tattoo artist since 2009. This pen has changed everything for me. After a bad car accident in 2010, I was unable to hold a standard machine anymore due to damage to my wrists from the car's airbag. So far the machine works great and has a good weight to it BUT the plug for the tattoo pen is very finicky and the pen will stop if it moves in the slightest lmao Also the fake skin provided SUCKS (unless it's just the provided ink being super weak?) so I definitely recommend getting better fake skin/ink elsewhere but otherwise this kit *for practice and beginners* rocks :) ... show more

This is the perfect little tattoo pen for beginners! It comes with a wide variety of needle selection as well as two sheets about 9 inches long 7 inches wide of fake skin to practice on before the real thing, about 6 sheets of trace paper (transfer paper) a 8 or 10 pack of a variety ink pack and a full larger bottle of black ink . BUT I would recommend that you purchase separate higher quality ink in desired colors. Overall Worth the money! ... show more

This tattoo pen actually works great if you know how to use it. I would suggest buying separate transfer paper, as the one that comes with this is not super great… but other than that I love it!
