I really didn't appreciate the full beauty of this birdbath until I saw it in person. The glaze is beautiful and the color is much more impressive than you can tell by the picture. There is an ingenious interlocking cam like structure cast into the base and the bottom of the bowl that enables you to lock the bowl to the base with a simple half turn. Once that is done it's as secure as if it was fired in one piece. It's a weighty piece of ceramics to start with but I drove a stake into the ground and set the bath over it as extra security to prevent the base from tipping over. We absolutely love this bird bath. The birds, squirrels and chipmunks seem to have no problems with it. The bird bath is beautiful and it has personality. Since it is glazed, it is easy to keep clean.

This is gorgeous. I got the blue, and I'd say it's more a teal color, but very solid, and very pretty. Will order another at some point to replace all my existing plastic ones. This one makes me happy every time I look at it...however, come to think of it, I'm not sure I've seen birds at it. Unless you call the critter in my photo a bird. ;-) ... show more

This bird bath gets 5 stars from me primarily due to: - Looks - Top easily locks/unlocks from base - Heavy, it stands up to nature and critters Apart from the overall looks I want the bowl to sit evenly on a pedestal and be easy to remove as I clean mine almost daily. The joint appears solid and hopefully will hold up to the test of time. I paid $77 for mine on sale and would purchase again at that price, however, I have seen them go for nearly twice that and would not pay that much as my personal experience is bird baths just don't hold up for long periods of time even if not used in freezing weather. ... show more

This bird bath keeps me smiling daily. Three most Favorite Things: (1) The birds love it and come daily for a drink and to bathe. It is relatively shallow and the water warms up, and the birds have been bathing more often because water is warm. (2) The bowl easily turns about 45 degrees and can be lifted off to empty and it isn't too heavy. This must be done every other day so ease of use is a big plus. (3) The blue is very pretty and adds a splash of color to patio. (4) If you have a big dog, it makes the perfect water bowl. Super glad I chose this one. Fired pottery like this does require it to be gently looked after so handle with care, set in a level place, always re-engage the bowl to the base by turning until it locks. Enjoy. ... show more

Overall I am pleased with this birdbath. The glaze is beautiful. It is pretty sturdy. My water wiggler is perfect to keep the water moving. It is a good depth for the birds and will be easy to clean. One thing would make it better: If it were 4 to 6 inches taller. Also it arrives well packaged but there is a manufacturer's sticker in the middle of the basin. It does not peel off well so I used label remover and had to work it for 40 minutes to get it off. Then used dish washing detergent to remove the label remover. The birds have already stopped by for a bath and a drink! ... show more

Sometimes when I read people’s reviews I find the stuff people write ridiculous. This birdbath is a great size, it has beautiful colors, it is very well-made for the price. My local store sells bird bows for $30-$50 more for the same type of item. This cannot be left out in the cold over the winter, you cannot pick it up by the actual bath itself and carry it when it’s connected to the pedestal. If you take good care of it I think it’s going to last. ... show more
