The main problem is that the black frame comes out too far from the blue spokes. So, you can't measure a horizontally oriented curve all the way to a corner, for example, or a vertically oriented curve starting on the floor.

We are replacing some of our floors in our 1920 home, and it has a bunch of weird corners and stuff that this will come in handy when needing to trim floorboards.

It works as claimed, but with a little frustration. The little fingers don’t slide smoothly, too much friction and the feel sticky, so it is difficult to set the shape at times. Other than that it works great, easy to create templates and get round curves. Would be nice if they were a little longer but more than one can be used together so I guess it’s fine. Because of the width of the fingers, you can’t draw a perfect line like with a ruler, you will end up with a zig zag notched line that will need to be reworked after getting the initial rough shape, still saves a ton of time, though if the fingers were thinner, a fine line can be drawn. Works as expected, decent price.

If you've ever had to cut odd contours into tile you know it's a pain to accurately make measurements on odd contours. This tools is awesome in handling this. It can do smaller (10") contours or larger (20") ones, by connecting 2 pieces together. The contours are held in place by sliding the locking mechanism. I've used this tool when replacing carpet with tile in one of my rooms. Great tool that should last quite a bit.
