I wish I had had this a few years back when I replaced three rooms worth of carpet with T&G oak flooring. Getting the pieces snugged together for nailing would have been much easier. Although the listing shows it being used on what looks like vinyl or laminate plank, it's really made more for the 3/4" solid wood type. The tool weighs nearly three pounds, has a welded-on post to hammer against, and the underside of the flat bar section has a rubberized pad to keep it from marring the top surface of the flooring it sits on while being driven. It CAN act as a pry bar if you need to remove old flooring or a badly installed piece. Usually, tongue & groove flooring is installed with the "tongue" edge out, and the "groove" edge being driven onto the previously installed course. You can use this bar directly on the tongue of the new piece, but it's better to use a piece of scrap as a buffer so the new piece doesn't risk damage that could interfere with the next course seating correctly. I do still have a few smaller areas that I've wanted to redo with wood flooring, so now I can do those with increased ease. This tool will help inspire me to get started on those remaining projects.

My review of the WORKPRO 17＂ Heavy Duty Pull and Pry Bar, Professional Pull Bar Flooring Tool for Wood Floor, Vinyl Plank, LVP, LVT and Floating Floor Installation I'm in the middle of putting down vinyl plank flooring in my house so when I saw this bar I had to grab one. I'm glad I did. From my limited experience with these vinyl planks I am absolutely sure this bar is going to be a great help with the remainder of my installations. I honestly did not expect this bar to be of such high quality so I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the box. This pry bar really is professional quality. It's heavy and solid. It is very well made and the finish is very nice. The heavy weight is important because lighter weight bars tend to rise up as you strike them which can damage the edges of the planks. Another nice feature is the felt padding on the bottom to protect the flooring. This bar is designed well. I would highly recommend this bar.

Very well made, high quality steel. Using it for a carpet replacement project, putting in some fake wood flooring. It's a simple tool, but makes things a lot easier. Recommended viewing some how-to videos first before using.

If your going to be doing some type of flooring project I highly recommend or suggest picking this up before hand. This thing is heavy, solid, and should definitely accomplish any prying needs I might have. It will easily slip into any crevasse and pry it apart with ease. I would have no issues using a hammer to slip it in deeper and then pry away. There is nothing weak or meek or delicate about it, it is heavy and solid.
