I’ve purchased this wood 3 times from this company. It is easy and convenient wood for DIY’ers that do not have proper power tools to mill and plane their own wood. I have found the wood quality, thickness, and planning of the wood to be consistent. Very few of the boards are bowed and even so, they are slightly bowed. All in all, these boards are fine. They are straight and the look is perfect. A lot of the edges were not square. Luckily I have access to a jointer and a table saw so there was no problem. If you are trying to create a board without a table saw, then you would be out of luck. Besid squaring up the edges, the boards are perfect. I just love working with purple heart. Alot of people dislike it but I have been working with purple heart for awhile and it really brings out a cutting board, or table or whatever else you might be working on! The color is purple as it should be but expect it to fade over time but if you take the right steps you can protect the color some but nothing is forever. If you are looking for some quick material to make a cutting board or two this is about as easy as it gets. Nicely planed and sanded boards that are about 90% ready to go right out of the box. Not every board is perfect so some may need to be run through the table saw/jointer and I think out of the two boxes I have purchased, there were maybe two boards I could not use. I have made three cutting boards out of the pieces I have received (approx 10" wide) and I think I have enough for at least one more, possibly two. Great product! ... show more
