This fan worked way better then I expected it too. Just clip the bracket on to your little buddy and slip the fan in place. Then turn on the unit, the heat actually generates the conductive power for the fan that really gets this thing moving ( i recommend a protective shroud be added by the manufacturer) and now the majority of your heat is circulated around your tent instead of going straight up. I tested this camping at 8000 ft with 33 degree night and I left my rainfly off to see the galaxy of overhead. within 1 minute the heat was blowing right at my sleeping bag and i was able to get up and get dressed comfortably. Functions as a heat dispersion device, however, it is easy to acidentally bump off the heater. Sometimes even walking on the ice by it will cause it to fall. And now it is permanently noisy. If only it could clamp onto the heater

It took me a while to figure out how to snap the wires inot the Buddy Heater the right way but once I did figure it out, WOW, this thing DOUBLES the BTU'S for ZERO energy cost as it runs soley off the heat transfer and blows a TON of heat. Used it during a power outage during a 30" snow storm. Kept us totally warm. Love it! ... show more

Picked up this fan unit because it came with an attachment to mount it on my Mr. Heater Buddy unit. Has made a huge difference in warming up a bigger room by pushing the heat that would just travel upwards out into the room so you don't need to be close to the heater to get the heat. Only thing is, might be better if it had a safety cage over the fan blades but haven't gotten hurt by them. Because I'm usually reaching down from above to turn off heater, I always worry about catching my hand on the fan. Did it once and didn't get hurt though. Surprised at how long the fan continues to spin after turning off the heater. ... show more
