I’ve been using the log splitter for a little over a month and it is broken!!! I purchased late October and didn’t use right away. For reference I’m a 5’7 almost 50 year old woman and don’t have a ton of strength. I basically bought the log splitter to split regular firewood into kindling and occasionally split larger logs so they fit easier into my fireplace. I typically have a fire in the evenings as Michigan nights get cold and can’t believe the log splitter broke right in the middle where the blades are welded together. 🙄 and of course the return window passed 3 weeks ago.

I got this product because i was searching for options to help me spit my wood from my giant oak tree that i took down. It kind does the job, but it takes 10x the effort shown in the ad. Using the on other soft woods it works great. Only giving 4 stats because it doesn't work for my situation, and it was listed as a product that can handle hardwood.

Poor balance. You have to stand it back up after your hammer it and the wood did not split all the way. Its more work than just using a maul.

I split a few logs of oak all was fresh cut should be easy to split. The little "T' that hold the log in place broke off now there is nothing to hold log in place. I did not hit it w my sledge. the wood when being split put pressure on it causing it to break. if this unit was made with 1/2" rebar that would not be a problem. log splitter split would fine but is useless to me now. i do not recommend purchasing this item, just use a 5 lb. wedge a good sledge. and axe.
