Cooking is so much more enjoyable now. The fresh pepper (pay extra & get black & white peppercorns) is so much more flavorful. The salt doesn’t taste different but we enjoy being able to adjust the coarseness. The wood on these are so gorgeous! The only slight inconvenience is if your eyesight is poor it’s a bit hard to see the S & P on top.

So far so good. I did 4 stars because I'm waiting to see how they hold up. They are nice though because, at least with my set, the salt one is a slightly lighter color than the pepper so I can tell them apart easier than looking at the little s and p. But the color difference is subtle so it doesn't stand out or look out of place in the kitchen. I'm worried about the square pole down the middle of it. Not sure if it will hold up.

Okay, after owning this for about six months, I want to lower my rating to three stars. I'm still just as in love with the aesthetic, but in terms of function, I wish I had bought a different pepper mill. The actual grinder is not the best quality, so I get really inconsistent grinds with a lot of big chunks (like 1/3 of the peppercorn). Also, the compartment that holds the peppercorns is very narrow, so it only holds a little bit. You have to refill often, and when you get close to empty, the big chunk problem I mentioned gets worse. It's not horrible, and I will keep this pepper mill, but for function I wish I'd gotten one that's higher quality. For aesthetics I still love it. Initial five-star review: The one I got happens to be two different colors of wood. I know some people in the reviews were complaining about that because they wanted it to be one solid piece. Personally, I LOVE this look and think I lucked out with the two different colors. I just think it's really cute. Of course, they're all slightly different, so you can't predict what yours will look like when you order. I also love the shape, which would be the same for all of them. In terms of functionality, it suits my needs. It grinds pepper easily. You can adjust coarseness of grind, but I'm fine on one setting. It's easy to tap off excess pepper before putting it back down, so pepper collecting underneath it is not really an issue.
