As a custom ring maker, I've been using micro-lathes for over 5 years and can confidently recommend them for this application. Their compact size allows them to fit within a dust collection hood, which is ideal for indoor use when working conditions aren't ideal in your shop. For example, the extended bed length provides more working space for holding the ring mandrel and manipulating the ring stock. I bought this lathe to replace one I had that was not working too well. I really like this machine! It is easy to setup and comes with all the tools you need to use it as well as some very nice items such as a saw blade. I have used it several times and it tracks well and the piece is easy to work. It does not, however, come with the standard curing tools although it has a tool that can be used in a limited fashion. It does have some tools for making round objects much easier than with standard tools. The only complaint I gave is that the screw to tighten the tool rest is in a position such that you cannot undo it when you have a piece mounted. If you know this you can preposition it. However, if you have a piece longer than the tool rest it is difficult to move. I still like this lathe and would purchase it again if I need another one.

I’m am making wheels with it for wooden trucks and it does a ok job. Granted it not an expensive lathe and you usually get what you pay for. The down is the frame is weak a gives when trying to clamp to my workbench. Unfortunately I don’t want to screw it down.

Metal legs that bolt to tablebroke after less than two hours use. Only used to shape cork for fishing rod grips. Lathe cheaply made. Not worth purchasing.

El equipo es excelente. Sin embargo, cuando el motor se equipa con sierra para cortar madera, la fuente de energía no resiste. En tales condiciones se quemó casi de inmediato. En caso que le pase lo mismo, la empresa le va a responder de inmediato. En mi caso repusieron no solo la fuente sino el equipo entero. Habrá tengo dos con una sola fuente.
