If you don't own any tools or want to do any customizing of your cat tower, or have nooo DIY experience, this is not the one for you. however, if you, like me, have some building skills and don't mind doing a little painting.... this is a very nice kit at an amazing value. the shelves are high-quality, thick plywood (5/8" or 3/4"), sanded and ready for paint/stain. the tower assembles easily with hardly any tools, and it's well-made and surprisingly sturdy. the instructions are sparse, but it's not too hard to figure out. I wanted my tower to go all the way to the ceiling, and it doesn't (it reaches about 6 or 7ft?), so I ordered a second one. You do definitely have to screw it into the wall, or make a wider base. but it seems like it should be very sturdy once it's complete. I'm happy with it.

At the top of our stairs is a landing, we mounted this on the wall with a couple of cat slings. This space was really unused, now the cats can look down on us with proper condemnation! Well made. The sisal rope was immediately liked by the cats. I do have a few improvement suggestions: The angled platforms should be redesigned to snug up against the wall with the mounting offsets in place; an additional platform for purchase should be an option; Pads for on top of the plywood platforms should be added, plywood is too slippery. We are purchasing faux sheep fur from the sewing store to staple on top of the plywood platforms.

The instructions included are worse than IKEA instructions. (And those are notoriously bad.) You have to guess what screw goes where. Gave me 6 short screws when I needed 10. No idea what I was supposed to do with the "long screws " All you get is 4 photos of an assembled tower... no real diagrams or explanations of where the screws go. I figured out the bolts easily. The pads are slick.. I had to buy a non slip pad to so my cat could jump and not slide off. Terribly disappointed in this product ... Would not reccomend you purchase. Had I put together when I first purchased I would have returned.

We just assembled our new cat tree, and our cat is already using it. We were looking for a cat tree that was tall, had posts for scratching, places to sit, and didn't take up a lot of floor space. The shelves are smooth wood. We added pieces of carpet squares, attached with adhesive and staples, to the shelves so that our cat would be more comfortable hanging out. The shelves are not very big but are big enough for our 7 pound cat. The rope-wrapped cylinders are linked together by threaded rods, which are reasonably strong. It's not perfect, but the wall attachments add stability. It moves around a lot less than our free standing cat tree.

Love this catree. So much cleaner and more durable than the carpeted ones. The platforms are generously sized. They are made of multi-ply baltic birch. And there is no finish. I opted to stain and seal. I bought acrylic pods from another brand. Fits great! I also stained and sealed the wood frames of the pods to match. With three young cats and three young children in the house, I opted to go with this one that can be mounted to the wall as opposed to the free standing one held in place by a single tension mount pushing against the ceiling. Feels secure when installed properly with wall anchors. Gives me piece of mind and the cats and everyone loves it.

Easy to install and very sturdy. My cat is 16 pounds and I feel very comfortable with her climbing this post. It looks great mounted on the wall and was easy to install myself. Wood steps are unfinished so you can stain it to match your furniture. I like the raw wood look so I've left it as is.

The good -- The cat tower is easily able to support the weight of our 10lbs cat (pictured) and our 13lbs cat with no wobbliness of the pole or bending of the shelves. If you use both wall mounts, it is quite stable. The meh -- This is advertised as being solid wood. The reality is that it is plywood. Nice plywood, but still just plywood. The bad -- The instruction sheet is basically useless. Also, per the instruction sheet, you only need 6 "short screws" to assemble the wall mount pieces (7 were provided). You actually need 10. 3 stars overall -- For the price, I was expecting actual solid wood and not needing to go to the hardware store to buy extra screws.

This turned out to be an awesome purchase! The scratchers seem to be really good quality. Only suggestion would be some sort of pad or to seal the wood on the shelves, I imagine those will get dirty quick. Install was a breeze. Cats already love it, and it seems stable for the cats. The size was as expected and is able to handle all 3 of my cats.
