re: Gerleek Wood Burning Kit 54 PCS Temp control. Pro: Burning markings into wood does not require force. This set at this Amazon sale price is good for that, however for this item, you get what you pay for. It comes in a very nice, plastic fiber, carrying case which can be used for something else, since the kit will not fit into it when fully assembled. Cons: This tool is for very careful adults only. There is a small plastic rest for the hot iron; that is a fire hazard. The tips get very hot, and should be used with heat resistant gloves on a heat resistant mat. Other than fire, serious skin burns, the 110v AC cord is not very flexible; it comes with permanent bends; these bends make keeping the cord out of the way of the hot iron, very difficult. The instructions do not describe how to put on, tighten, and remove the tips. Lack of directions is especially lacking for the screw-on tips. The screw-on tips can not be tightened without damaging them and/or the barrel. I tried the xacto knife screw-on blade. It is only useful to make burn lines, and the barrel is not strong enough to use any of the tips with pressure, without suffering some bending. The Instructions do not describe the adjustable temperature. The adjustment dial markings are not indexed to a mark on the barrel, therefore the vague selection of hotness is not repeatable. The instructions do not describe that the general increase of the light in the barrel corresponds vaguely to the temperature setting. The light is not strong enough to be seen in good working light. The screw-on tips are an afterthought and the connection is poorly designed. ... show more

I feel like this was a great buy for what I paid for it, especially coming with the attachment pieces and stencils. Still waiting to get some wood to use it on and that should be soon, but in the meantime my boyfriend is putting it too good use!
