I bought these shoes because they are water resistant and I was going to Costa Rica where it constantly rains. I fell in love with them because they came with two different colors of shoe strings one that is black and the other with pink. These shoes were perfect for hiking, zip lining, tracking through dirt, rain and puddles. I thought I would use them for only my trip but i put them on any time it rains and I am doing a delivery job. So yes these boots are perfect for vacations and working as well. Plus they keep my feet warm. They have good traction. I have never fallen while wearing them. They are comfortable and perfect amount of weight. The boots are gorgeous. They came with an extra pair of shoelaces and two insole. Depending on how the shoe runs I can wear size 8. But my true size is 8.5. I considered returning them because when I tried them on the boots felt too loose. However after putting in the insoles and adjusting the laces everything felt into place. There is only one thing that bothers me about the boots. When I tried them on to walk the mid front where the laces start feel like it bends in while walking. And that does not feel natural. I don't know if is a defect of how the boots are made. Just be aware of it before settling on this purchase. I really like the boots overall and have decided to keep them. I will wear them with thicker socks to avoid the weirdness from the bending that it does. Maybe if I purchased an 8 it would not do that. But I decided to keep my 8.5 because I rather a boot be roomier than tight. ... show more
