It is off on size. My ring is a little over a carat. According to this, it is about 1/2 carat. I have a larger Moissanite stone that is three carats. The sizer makes it about one carat. It does give you an idea of what the stone would look like on your finger. Keep in mind the stone size will be off sized. But, a good jeweler can give you the correct stone size.

This diamond sizer kit is great to keep on hand, even though I don’t do a lot of this type of jewelry. It’s come in handy a few times, and I was even able to help out a neighboring vendor who needed one for their specialty jewelry. It’s a simple tool, but really useful to have around just in case.

It's a good gauge of stone size, seems accurate in regards to diamonds but just be aware that this is a general guide. I ended up getting these just to make sure I liked the size of the stone I wanted but I ended up going bigger than this guide shape kit. I'm keeping this, though, and will give it to someone down the line who may be able to utilize it more.

I love these. I am a professional piercer, and use these to show people how large a piece of jewelry will look in a specific location. People always think they want BIG until they see it on, and this is a really easy visual aid!

recently purchased this diamond sizer kit so that I could get a tangible feel for how the various diamond shapes (round, princess, or oval) & sizes (0.5ct-4ct) look before having a custom CAD ring made. They are compact and super easy to use! Each one is clearly labeled with the progression in size giving very realistic results when placed over the finger. PROS: The cutouts are realistic enough to help you envision how a 1 ct princess or a 3 ct oval would look in person. They are very lightweight making them easy to transport in your bag or planner. The plastic/acrylic is very durable which makes it feel more professional than a paper print‑out. CONS: The price is a bit steep compared to available smartphone simulators. It only covers 3 shapes, of which only the princess appeals to me. I would have preferred the option to select which sizers are included so that I could have chosen some more modern (emerald, cushion, fancy) cuts. No storage case is included - just the flat ruler cards, which means they’ll be easy to misplace if not careful. If you’re planning an engagement, helping a friend choose her gem size, or even just trying to discern how a 2 ct round differs from a 2 ct princess on your hand - then this would be a neat portable helper.

These nifty little tools make it so much easier to visualize different gemstone sizes and shapes. They’re especially handy if you’re ordering jewelry online and can’t try it on first—you get a true sense of scale before making a purchase. The acrylic is thick, clear, and sturdy, so they feel durable enough to last. The only tricky part was peeling off the protective film, but an X-Acto blade to lift a corner solved that quickly. Once set up, they work exactly as described and are surprisingly useful to have on hand.
