For these types of silver jewelry, it is best to dip the jewelry in the solution, then use a small brush to clean the jewelry, then rinse it off. Since this is a powerful solution, soaking jewelry with the stones listed above for long periods of time might actually remove some of the natural oils from the stones. I bought this because I have several old pieces of silver jewelry that were so tarnished that I thought they were unsalvageable. I had tried silver cleaning cloths, other types of silver cleaner, the baking soda / aluminum foil trick... nothing worked. Every tarnished item I have used this cleaner with has come out looking like new. It's absolutely amazing and it only takes about 30-40 seconds in the solution to remove the tarnish. Before purchasing it, I was apprehensive about the smell based on the other reviews I read, but I don't really notice any odor unless I put the solution right up to my nose (and, yes, it has a sulfur smell). I got three different chains all of them are sterling silver 925 one is a rope chain with a digger pendant the other sterling silver chain is a Cuban link with the arrowhead pendant which is also stolen silver and then I got a thick super heavy Cuban Link sterling silver chain that weighs about four and a half ounces and this cleaner takes these pieces to another level I mean I am in astonished like my silver is aluma illumination it just shiny and bright and it just catches the everybody's eyes this cleaner is AMAZING 30 second then take out n boom shiny.So I have 1 rope chain dirty tarnished dropped in &30 seconds later it's looking hella lot Betta Im gonna for it so I'm going to clean it one more time tomorrow and really polish it up so I'll have three different chains the big thick 925 Cuban Link(4oz) the smaller Cuban link with Arrowhead pendant and then a smaller rope chain with the dagger on it but this cleaner is above and beyond it keeps your s*** clean so I recommend it definitely recommend it and I triple recommend it it does smell like ass but hey what does it matter if you get your s*** clean and shining ... show more

Bought this to use on some of my more intricate silver jewelry, as I usually use a sponge/cream combo that’s hard to get into nooks and crannies. While this wasn’t super effective on things that had recently been polished, it works GREAT on the super tarnished stuff! One of my necklaces hadn’t been polished in a few years and was practically black. When I pulled it out of this polishing solution it was like night and day. The necklace wasn’t 100% polished but it got at least 75% of the tarnish off in just one go. I’ll still use the sponge/cream polish to finish up each piece, but this is great for getting started on many pieces especially if they are heavily tarnished. It does smell quite a bit though, definitely use it somewhere with ventilation. ... show more

I have a lot of silver jewelry, some old some new and I have a tendency to let, the necklaces especially, tarnish. In an attempt to clean up everything I bought this AFTER using silver cream polish which was torturous as it did not easily get out of some of the jewelry details without A LOT of effort and did not clean it well. It worked wonderfully...The smell is not great but holy hell I can remember old time silver dips that would make your eyes water...this does not, it is almost pleasant in comparison. it did the job in less time than it did to smear polish on and buff shined beautifully. The media could not be loaded. Best silver jewelry cleaner I’ve ever tried. I wish I’d done a before-and-after to show you the dramatic results in under 60 seconds. My jewelry went from dull and gray, to blindingly sparkly. It looked better than new. I wish the kit came with a little brush, but I used a baby toothbrush to brush the pieces really well before rinsing them off in tepid water, and let them dry on a microfiber towel.
