  • Possibly the best overall season in the 62 year history of Doctor Who
I’ve seen these stories before many times and own them on DVD, but it’s been many a year, DVD’s wear out eventually sometimes and the blu-ray sets are a lovely reissue. So how could I *not* repurchase these classic stories? I could go into massive detail about the beginning of the Doctor’s exile on Earth in “Spearhead from Space”, the first appearance of the Autons, and the Nestene Consciousness, a deadly entity that can inhabit and control ANYTHING plastic on the planet. I could go on and on about the return of the United Nations Intelligence Taskforce, headed up by Brigadier Alastair Gordon Leth-bridge Stewart and its scientist in residence, the brilliant Liz Shaw. Yes, I could blather on about the billions of human sized, bipedal Silurians who’ve lived beneath us under the Earth’s crust for billions of years, get woken up, and are angry because since they’ve been sleeping, a bunch of over-evolved apes have taken over *their* world. I won’t even bother saying much about The Ambassadors….OF DEATH, because it’s a great title. And all I’ll say about Inferno is that it;s a wild, dimension spanning, alternate reality, suspense filled, primordially laden tale that will keep you on the edge of your seat. All I’ll say… is that no matter how much or little you know or have seen of Doctor Who. Buy this. Now. ... show more
