I attached this shroud to my Harbor Freight HERCULES® 4-1/2 in. 11 Amp Angle Grinder and it fit perfectly. I added one of the included washers before screwing the grinding disk on. This helped to lower the grinding disk height so it was closer to the floor. I connected my shop vacuum to the dust collector using an adapter I had already owned. This dust collector work very well and reduced the dust considerably. After a couple hours of grinding, the filter on my vacuum became clogged with dust and the suction power decreased. Consequently, the amount of dust in the air increased when the vacuum was not sucking well. The diamond cup grinding disk included in the set is excellent quality. I was able to grind a 13x14 ft floor and only a few millimeters were worn off the disk plates. A few tips: Make sure to wear a high quality mask. Concrete dust contains silica and will damage your lungs if you do this job frequently. Use a bag inside your shop vacuum and a hepa filter. The amount of dust vacuumed can get very heavy so be ready to empty the shop vacuum bag when done. The filter on the vacuum can clog after an hour so take it out and clean it regularly. The grinding disk can eat away concrete easily so don’t use a lot of pressure. I found that making grinding passes left to right was most effective. Seal off the bottom of any doors if you do not want the dust getting through into the rest of your house. I cannot even image doing a job in a basement without a shroud like this to collect dust. I had to take the collector off to get into corners and the amount of dust was worse than driving in a dense fog.

it takes a bit of time to get it attached, but once its on it works great. The dust shroud works very well. Tested it with it on, almost zero dust flying around. tested it with it off and dust clouds were everywhere. Grids very well. I used the grinder to remove old thin set and it made light work of it. The cost was the driving factor as this was purchased likely as a one project use item. However it's a very sturdy grinding blade that would be suitable for professionals. It's very easy to use once it's attached. The only thing that could ave made this better is a faster method of attaching it.

Works good. Fits on my Dewalt grinder. I don’t know why people write bad reviews,just need to take a little time and use brain to make adjustments. If you want to remove paint from concrete floor, it will make the blade dull quickly. Use paint remover. Blade is sharp and does good job

Did not fit to my Dewalt angle grinder, so I had to buy Dewalt shroud. I was going to keep them anyway since I needed the discs. However, the nut would not come off from the disc after one job. Luckily, the disc came off from my grinder. It would have been a nightmare if it would not have come off from my grinder. I think the disc did an okay job, but you might not wanna take a chance…. I will not. I would rather pay more to keep my tools nice.

I don't write too many reviews but this cup wheel and shroud earned one. I used this tool yesterday for the first time to strip mortar from a bathroom floor I will be re-tiling. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I attached the tool to a disposable HF angle grinder, hooked up my trusty 40 year old Craftsman shop vac to the housing and went to work. This tool was amazing. It probably didn't take 10 minutes to strip the entire 40 square feet of 20 year old mortar, leaving the substrate nice and smooth. As long as I kept the guard closed there was no dust at all. I had to open the guard to cut in on the edges, letting some dust out, but still no big deal. My only complaint is that the orientation of the vacuum port in relation to the movable portion of the guard made it difficult to get into the corners. Great purchase for me.

Received it and the installed brush was damaged, Swapped with the spare brush. Took a while to figure out how to install everything. Ended up using the included double threaded nut and the other nut. Instructions on the product page was helpful, The good - grinder works well on concrete. The flip up was not only hard to lift, it was useless as you cant get any closer to the edge since the flip up blocks access. Maybe my shroud was defective, IN any case, for small jobs, this works OK. edit: reading other reviews, I suspected that the flip up on mine was defective, so I got a replacement. Yup, the flip up on the new one works fine, and is much better to get to the edge. However the replacement had the brush GLUED to the shroud! The brush wouldnt come off and after I pried it off, I saw that they used some drops of epoxy to glue the brush in the slot. So I had to get a knife to scrape the epoxy from the slot wall after the brush was removed. So to me, 2 of these had one defect or another, so I deducted another star. Who knows what will be defective on the one you get?
