I really love this coffee table. It has a wonderfully sleek look to it, and fits my room nicely. The assembly was reasonably easy (though there was one part of the instructions, when attaching the lift mechanism, that could be clearer) and it's nice and sturdy. The table came flat-packed and was very well packaged. My outer box had some damage, so I was a little worried before I opened it, but the only thing that was damaged on the inside was the packing styrofoam. I would recommend having a wide, clear area for assembly. There are a lot of large parts you'll need to lay out as you go. The table itself is lovely, once assembled, and I love the hidden storage. The rising top it very sturdy and has no issues supporting a laptop or a plate of food. The movement is very smooth, too. I will say that the plain black finish does seem to collect fingerprints very easily, but they clean up well. It's probably not as noticeable on the woodgrain finishes. Overall, though, I love this table, and think it looks wonderful in my living room.

This table was a really pleasant surprise. I am so happy about the eames-like design, and the added storage space is fantastic. It's really well made and the mechanism that lifts up and down is very nice and has a soft-touch automatic movement that's very quiet. When putting it together, note that it is possible to reverse the front and back of the top section, it’s easily fixed though just usnscrew and rotate. Takes about 90 minutes to assemble. Pay attention to small details in diagrams to orient the pieces. All the parts are clearly labeled, and you have the necessary tools included. Be careful not to overtighten or cross thread screws,. There are extra pieces and screws and note that you have to unbolt the hydraulic arm on one side in order to screw in the bracket. This is easy though. Put screws in bottom section before legs, or else you won't be able to screw in the corner screws.

While the inside styrofoam protection was damaged, the item itself had no damage. The parts are packaged well and the instructions are easy to follow. The particle board itself is an economy grade which serves well if you build it and leave it in place. Ready to Assemble (RTA) furniture is not meant for being moved. The veneer grain is very nice. You need to make sure that you align the grain between the 2 tops as they are meant for the grain to flow when the top is not lifted. The fastener cover stickers are sufficient but are not an exact match to the grain or Olof of the unit. The legs of this unit are plastic. While they look ok and do not distract from the look, this is a drawback for me. They should have been wood legs. When you are trying to give the impression of wood (it is particle board, not solid wood), the leg should be wood. The cylinders for the lift top hinges are strong and do require that you have some weight inside the enclosure to stabilize the unit when you lift the top. I found that lifting the top when the cabinet was empty caused me to move the cabinet. Overall it is a great lift top coffee table at a great price. It is a block design but the grain and coloring make up for the basic design. With 90 degree edging and sharp corners, rather than rounded While not particularly great in an environment with toddlers who might hit their heads as they learn to walk, it is very nice for an economy minded and toddler free room.

This is an attractive coffee table with the added benefits of a lift top and a large storage compartment. Assembly was not complicated while following the clearly detailed instructions, taking less than an hour. The lift top operates smoothly while you raise or lower it and is stable in the raised position. Overall, this is a good value for a nice looking and functional coffee table. No regrets.

This took me 2.75 hours to organize and put together. Instructions were ok. The lift tray I got on backwards and I followed the instructions exactly. Think there was a typo/graphic error on attaching it top piece to the side metal lift springs. I had to undo the last 4 steps to get it turned correctly and it was not easy to do this. The table overall is great! It is efficient and the top lift works great! Besides how long it took to assemble, my only suggestion to the maker is to make the legs about 5-6 inches taller.

Decent coffee table. The design itself is amazing, and it's a pretty good fit up overall however it is a pain to put together. The entire thing has good directions for the most part but it is extremely time consuming to put together. It took me about two hours and I had a drill, also make sure that the table is oriented the correct way before you put tops on because it has to be a certain way.

So hard to find solid looking black furniture, and was pleased to find this. Well built (considering how I built it, it better be) and looks great in my space. Kind of a modern take on an older style. Not a ton to say, it's attractive! The storage is nice. Would recommend if you're into the style. For the price don't expect it to be 6 inch thick real wood, but it's solid.
