This was a huge hit with the nieces at Thanksgiving. There were plenty of bracelets for them all to make their own so no one felt left out. The quality of the pieces were actually pretty good and everyone had a great time putting them together. After making all the jewelry the kids had blast using the jewelry box as a “treasure chest”. Everyone loved it and I would highly record it, especially as a gift.

This review is for the Princess Jewelry DIY Self Made kit This pink suede-covered cube (nearly 5 x 5 x 5) contains two divided trays of beads and charms, and a tray with 3 snake chain bracelets and 3 pendant cords to string all these beads on. Included is a length of elastic cord to make elastic bracelets. The box has an engraved brass handle and closure. The box itself is worth more than the contents. There are 18 larger charms and 15 smaller ones, all cute. The 12 large spacer beads are prettily colored. The 162 small beads, and 144 tiny ones might be a challenge to string onto the elastic provided for elastic bracelets. The charms included can vary from box to box, according to the cardboard wrapper that came with the box. As these supplies are used up, the box will be a pretty and convenient place to store replacements. I wish the kit came with instructions, but like so many DIY projects, there are plenty of videos on the internet to help with making these simple pieces of jewelry. Younger kids will need instruction for making elastic bracelets, and I'm not sure everything is supplied. A word about sizes. Always measure the wrist of the person each bracelet is going to be made for. This kit is made to fit kids and tweens. The three snake chain bracelets are 6 inches long. Charm bracelets need to hang loose on the wrist, so these bracelets would fit a 5 or maybe 5.5-inch wrist. The pendant cords are 16 inches long, which wouldn't be much of a pendant for a grownup.

I wish the string that came iwth it was already cut to length instead of being a big bundle, but that is a tiny nitpick. there are a lot of different beads here, and several different styles of jewelry that you can make. There are even a few really pretty metal pendants you can add to really give your stuff some charm. The box itself feels soft and plushy, though I think its made of chipboard (not a problem really, just calling out its not gonna take too much of a beating).

This is a great gift to girls, especially those who love crafts and/or dressing up. The jewelry box is very well made - both the material and the craftsmanship are decent. It's also a great craft kit, with everything needed for 3 bracelets and 3 necklaces. Good selection of charms and beads, which are beautiful with exquisite details. I especially like the interior organizers, and foresee their usefulness in storing small girly things long after the craft projects are completed.

My 7 yr old daughter was thrilled with this kit and plans to have a girl play date to make jewelry. It comes with a nice assortment of beads and is easy to put together. My biggest complaint is that you can't get each layer of supplies without dumping it out which once opened can be a huge mess. My daughter wants to take all the compartments out and use this as a little tote for her accessories. I hope the pictures are helpful.
