The media could not be loaded. I've only conducted tests today and haven't tried them on a life shoot yet. The system looks good (receiver, transmitter, charging case, wind screens). My previous lavaliers really let me down when the subject turned away from the receiver. So, that's what I tested first on these. My challenging use case is trying to mic a player on a small soccer field or mic a coach in a small gym. The subject's body really blocks the signal more than you might imagine and I couldn't catch their voice at mid field or across the gym. I think the GODOX WEC Kit2 will get the job done. Facing the receiver, I have acceptable sound up to 400 feet. Walking away from the receiver, the distance drops to about 250 feet. But, that distance can be increased by wearing the mic on the side (shoulder or trapezius) part of the collar instead of in the front of the collar. On the side collar, sound was good up to 350 feet. I also played around with the mounting direction of the receiver. You'll want to experiment here because mounting the receiver vertical did seem to help in every situation. The noise reduction is noticeably effective, but I didn't test it very thoroughly and my application won't be very critical of sound quality. BTW I'm using it with a "less-capable" Galaxy phone. This audio jack is much more reliable than the USBc connector my previous lavaliers had.

I've tested out several other wireless microphone setups, particularly those that can connect directly to my Google Pixel 7 Pro smartphone. I found that the audio quality on the other mics inferior to these. I needed longer range and this this really fit the bill. I found the battery life to be consistent with what they advertised, however, I have never pushed it to its limits. I like that it includes windscreens for the mics for even clearer audio in windy environments. In order to hook up the receiver to my phone requires a USBC to USBC cable which is not included. Connectivity was very simple and easy to use. It is virtually plug and Play. I really like the audio quality and performance that comes out of this kit. It comes with everything you need to capture professional audio out in the field, and I would highly recommend these.

I have a couple no name microphone kits, but they have their drawbacks. With a known name such as Godox, I figured it was more likely to meet my expectations. I'm not sure that the battery life matches what the description says. When I received it, the case indicated that it was at 65%. I immediately plugged it in and charged all the way to 100. It was only after this I had time to really look at this set and realized that I needed to remove the plastic covers from the transmitters and receiver. After doing this and allowing them to charge, it was down to 22%, so I plugged it in again. After some minor testing, taking the transmitter and receivers in and out of the case, it dropped down into the 80s again. This seems dramatic when I probably had the pieces out of the case for less than 15 minutes total. I'm curious to see what will happen over actual usage. Audio cables: the kit includes 2 different cables, depending on your usage. The ends on the cables are fairly thick and therefore would not plug into my phone with the case on. This is definitely a disappointment. I have an old adapter to take it down to a narrower fit, unfortunately, after a bit of testing with this and other mics, I found that this adapter doesn't work for mics. Taking the case off my phone, I finally managed to get the cable plugged in successfully. Oddly though, after I unplugged it, I could not get it to plug in correctly again and have the phone indicate that it was using an external mic. Since, at this time, my phone is where I want to record the audio, I felt that this was a failure. Audio solution: One of my other microphone sets came with a short USB C to USB C cable to connect to the phone. Although this isn't documented as supported with the Godox set, I decided to try it and IT WORKED. Yay, I could get audio to my phone and record with no issue. I'm not sure why Godox doesn't include such a cable with the kit. They include a USB A to C cable for charging, which might be usable with a OTG adapter, however I did not test this combination. Ease of use: I love that the transmitter and receiver power up and pair as soon as you pull them out of the charging case. The lights let you clearly know that they are paired. The wind screens pop on or off very easily. There is a plastic cap that snaps on rather than relying on elastic. Hopefully this will help prevent them from being lost in the field since there is only one for each microphone. It's great that a semi-rigid case is included which holds the charging case along with all the cables and accessories that you need to make it work. The audio quality seemed more than fine to me, however I don't have much of an ear for the fine intricacies of sound, so someone else might hear something that I don't. I'm looking forward to actually getting out and using this set.

Here is what to know. Although they did not instantly start working, it took less than five minutes of charging to get them working perfectly! When we open the box, they turn on, so be ready for that. I have two other sets which do the same thing. This set has the receiver, and the receiver has a battery in it. This means that it is a powered microphone for the older GoPro cameras which NEED a powered microphone. This connects via a cable (TRS to TRS) to the GoPro 8 I have, and it sounds great! To connect it to my Smartphone, it also comes with a TRS to TRRS connector wire, so I can use it with any setup for video that I have... and again, it sounds great! Now, two microphones are not always needed. When i am doing a "Talking Head" video, and it is just me, I do not need the other microphone, so when I shut the box and leave the other microphone in there, it shuts off - cool! The other two I have do the same thing... shut the box on the spare mic, and they power off - ready to work if need be. They charge up fast, they work right away, they sound great. I cannot really ask for anything more - I love them! Oh, along with coming with there own charging box, they also come with a nice soft case to hold the cables and wires we use with it... that is a classy touch as well! Five Stars!
