  • May have been location BUT...
I Purchased this last minute to be able to use at a festival I was performing in. let me be clear, I had ZERO chance to test the unit before going to the festival so, my experience is a little swayed. Even after searching multiple times on multiple channels I was still running into intermittent cutting out on the signal. I was (in most cases) less than 20 feet from the receiver but, we were fairly close (within 1.5 miles) to the international airport so it >>could<< be a factor That being said, when it was not having the cut out issue the sound was really awesome and the size of the unit is increadibly convenient. I was not displeased nor discouraged by my purchase, but, I did eventually have to go with a direct input at one of the most troublesome stages in order to be heard. Time will tell and I am pretty confident that the unit will function better when I am not right next to an airport. ... show more

  • Ok purchase for the price
The sending unit that plugs into the guitar is a bit flimsy, especially the on/off switch. It feels like it could break pretty easily. As far as sound functionality it's fairly good unit. I used it for the first time at a 4 hour gig and didn't notice any sound quality issues and the battery lasted through the whole gig no problem. As far as connection , I was never out of line of site with the receiver and never more than 30 feet away. ... show more

  • An exceptional wireless unit at an incredible price!
The PTG-11 is an extremely affordable UHF wireless guitar system. The system is comprised of a rackmount receiver unit and rechargeable guitar transmitter (charged via micro USB). It also comes with rack mounting brackets, antennas, antenna extension cables for rack mounting, 1 ¼” cable, and a power adapter. I got to try the unit in a controlled setting at home for about 3 weeks before taking it on the road for a few days and, I have to say, my experience with it is overwhelmingly positive in both my home and live use. I do have a minor critique which I will get to in a bit, but overall, this is an exceptionally made piece of gear that works exactly as advertised and sounds fantastic. The manual states that it has a range of 165-175ft and while I wasn’t able to get that far away due to the lovely Washington rain, I was able to get at least 100ft away in my home and experience no dropout or latency whatsoever. The transmitter also has about 8-12 hours' worth of battery life, which is pretty absurd. The tone produced when using the PTG-11 is also quite good. I don't feel like I experienced any noticeable degradation in terms of my tone. Given, I tend to use more high gain amp models through my quad cortex, so I’m not as concerned in a live setting so long as the tone isn’t muddy, but even on the lower gain and clean tones, everything still sounded just a clear and full as it normally does. That being said, when comparing the raw DI between a direct connection and wireless connection to my UAD Apollo Twin, there is maybe a bit of added compression, but nothing I would consider bad or detrimental (highly doubt anyone would be using a wireless system to record, but you never know). Speaking in terms of my live experience, the PTG-11 performed perfectly without any interference from other wireless units or cell phones. The receiver unit is built like a tank and the transmitter is super light and fits very snuggly into the output jack on my guitar. One of my concerns was that, given the transmitters design, it might be a little loose or potentially fly out while playing. Thankfully such was not the case. On top of that, I did not need to charge it at all for any of those days we were on the road and it still had plenty of juice after our last show. This does bring me to the area where I think the PTG-11 could be improved. I think the receiver unit is designed perfectly and feels extremely sturdy. The transmitter unit, however, while not feeling cheap by any means, feels a lot more fragile. Obviously, you try to be as careful as you can, but things can happen on the road and the plastic that houses the transmitter electronics feels like it could break if dropped from high enough onto a hard surface. I feel like this could be improved by either using more durable rubber material or simply going with the more traditional pack design you could attach to your strap. Also, this is a very minor thing, but I do think it would be cool to see future units be chargeable by USB-C since those are much more common nowadays. All that being said, I think this is an incredible unit and definitely recommend it. You would be hard pressed to find a better wireless unit for the price. On top of that, Phenyx Pro’s customer service and team have been extremely helpful and very communicative, which is always extremely refreshing. Will definitely be trying more gear from them in the future! ... show more

  • Low quality
I have an active bass, the signal was terrible. No help from the company. After looking online at many reviews they even admit that active guitars and basses too hot of a signal causing it to distort. After requesting a refund from the company, they charged me my return shipping even though their product didn't work, and they admit in their comments to people that it doesn'twork. Word to the wise, if you have an active guitar or bass, do not purchase this product. ... show more

  • Really a great value and excellent service and support from the manufacturer.
I recently received the Phynex Pro True Diversity wireless guitar unit and overall, I'm really impressed with its performance. The sound quality is fantastic, especially considering the price point. I was pleasantly surprised at how clean the sound is and it works perfectly for my needs since I only play in my house. Unfortunately, the included case took a hard fall during shipping and the hinges were broken off, but I was able to quickly get in touch with customer support and they were extremely helpful. They sent me a replacement within just two weeks and I'm now able to use the unit with confidence. Overall, I'm really happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend the Phynex Pro True Diversity wireless guitar unit to anyone looking for a quality wireless option at a reasonable price. ... show more
