Description

Winton is a traditional range of oil colors, made from moderately priced pigments, formulated for student and amateur artists or more accomplished painters requiring large volumes of color within moderate cost limits. A high level of pigmentation provides good covering power and tinting strength. While it can't match the superior pigment load of Artists' Oil Color, the Winton range is much stronger than many other artists' quality ranges. Winton uses moderately priced pigments rather than lessening the pigment content to an unacceptable level. Winsor & Newton formulation, manufacture and quality control ensure a product of absolute excellence. This set contains six 0.7 oz. (21 ml) tubes, including one each of Cadmium Yellow Pale Hue, Permanent Alizarin Crimson, French Ultramarine, Viridian Hue, Yellow Ochre, and Burnt Umber.

    • great for beginners !!
Style: Intro Set - 6 x 21ml
If you buy these remember to get a white tube separate, it will help a lot. These are the first oil paints i have ever bought or used. Remember that you need to be very careful with oil paint and all of the supplies! You need a well ventilated room and a way to properly dispose of your waste, we dont want paint thinner and stand oil to end up in landfills!! Be careful, but enjoy yourself! Oil paint is such a fun medium :) ... show more

    • Would be perfect with a white paint
Style: Intro Set - 6 x 21ml
I have wanted to try oil paints for a while and so I bought this and I should have looked more at what the colors were before I ordered it because there is no white or black. There is a very dark brown useful in darkening colors, but I am very bummed about the set not containing a white. I will order a white separately and I already bought paint thinner to dilute and clean the paint away. Overall happy with my purchase. ... show more

    • Nice set of colors
Style: Intro Set - 6 x 21ml
Great deal for the price, particularly if you're still getting started and trying to figure out which colors you really need in your palette. These paints are thicker than the Lukas Terzia paint I've been primarily using, and are comparable to the Gamblin 1980 (both student grades). Only complaint so far -- my set included Cadmium Deep Red Hue rather than Alizarin Crimson! ... show more

Love this! I painted my very first portrait with this paint and it was very easy to use and very impressive quality for the price! I will be purchasing again.

    • Good quality paints at a fair price
Purchased these for my artist niece for Christmas - big hit! I was surprised how small the paint tubes are (size is listed, but still they are smaller than I imagined). Good quality for the price.

    • READ THE DISCRIPTION BEFORE YOU PURCHASE!!!
I didn't read the label well enough and ended up with random colors....They do the job fine but don't expect any primary colors here! Had to go out and buy another set. Other than that the colors were great
