This winch cable cushion does what it's supposed, affixes to either the 3/8 in steel winch rope, or the same sized synthetic without drama , and does a very good job of snugging up against your rollers/hawse thus protecting your winch components from a flailing steel hook etc. This one appears to be made from actual rubber, so shoot it periodically with a rubber protectant/sealant/ rejuvenator and it should last a LOOOOOONG time, certainly longer than most synthetic cables. For the money (not to mention the peace and quiet;) it's really a no-brainer. Thumbs UP!

All about this, came together as advertised--except--4 stars due to the bolting of the two halves. I noticed that you can crank down on the screws, very slightly deforming the halves at the mating line. I felt it had to be tightened well, to avoid loosening down the road, on my ATV. I simple fix for over tightening, would be to supply self locking nuts vs the standard nuts supplied. TDC

I have a side by side with a winch. A couple times in the past I’ve pulled the cable in too far and it gets stuck behind the fair lead. I had to remove the bolts in the rollers to get it out. Not anymore.
