  • Not for cake pops.....
Color: White
I have used these candy melts for many years. I have never found anything that they didn't work for until now. I have the candy molds and I use these melts for that. I use these melts for truffles. I use these melts for chocolate covered strawberries, etc. I decided to learn how to make cake pops. And I have to say that I was not completely into cake pops. They are cute, but when I can make cakes of every kind - cake pops seem like a let down to me. I thought it would be best to eventually make a treat table. A whole table full of cake, pops, cupcakes, etc. I also thought I could use the pops for a last minute gift too. I watch tutorials to learn how to make cake pops. The easiest way was to use these melts. I am very familiar with them so I thought it would be fairly easy. i followed the tutorials and it was a mess. The melts were too heavy for the pops and they would fall off the sticks! I could not get the melts to be very smooth on the pops. If they did stay on the stick, the pop would slide down the stick! I was dismayed by this. The melts have always worked well for me. I will not use them for pops ever again. I will also use a different recipe and cover for the pops if I ever try to make them again. The price of these melts was also double or more than the regular store. I ordered these with the cake pop stand so I would have it all at my disposal. This is the first time the melts did not work for me. I will continue to use them for my other treats. ... show more

  • Great- not perfect- for cakepops.
Color: White
You have to use candy melts for any coating that you will have put in room temperature. You especially need it if you do not know how to temper chocolate. I used this to decorate some cake pops but I had to thin it out with oil to really get it to coat and not be chunky. I have this problem with their formula and I don't like it- I'd prefer for it to be thinner when melted. When I add the oil it solidifies perfectly still it is just much easier to work with. I had a lot of problems with it weighing the cakepop down and getting lumpy and cracking until I added the oil. As a tip for cake pop decorating, do mix it with a neutral light colored oil until you get a good consitency, use a spoon to poor over some of the candy and tap it to remove the excess while spinning. PLEASE consider doing this as a wasted a lot of time, cake pops, and worry while trying to do it directly from melting. Otherwise it is still an amazing unique product, I just wish I did not have to modify it at all. ... show more

  • Baptism favors were lovely!
Color: Bright Pink
The Wilton candy melts were easy to work with and made beautiful Baptism favors for my daughter’s special day! I watched several YouTube videos to learn how to make chocolate melt candy using molds I bought on Amazon. In the process of making the favors, I learned to keep the silicone holding tray for the candy sitting in a glass dish with hot water to keep them melted while I painted details or added melted chocolate for the sugar sprinkles to stick to. Super White and Bright Pink were perfect. Turquoise was a lovely color, easy to use to create shades of color or a marbling effect, and it tastes okay, but it tastes best when blended with the other colors or used as a surface decoration. The sprinkles added in the molds before pouring the chocolate result in a nice crunch, but I found that I prefer the aesthetic of adding sprinkles after the chocolate is out of the mold. Coconut oil added to the mold helped to release the chocolates. Placing them in the freezer for 5 minutes helped to set them more quickly and added extra shine. My daughter especially enjoyed mixing the different colors to make new shades and the gold sugar glitter! ... show more

  • Easy! Quick to set!
Color: Bright Pink
So easy! I used this candy to make small roses with SUNKOOL 4 Size Roses Flower Silicone Cake Mould. I don't use my microwave often, and it was kind of packed away, so I tried double boiling at first, but it wasn't really working out. I took out the microwave and melting the candy was easy peasy. I put the candy in a Pyrex measuring cup and ran the microwave 3-4 times in 30 second intervals at 50% power, then stirred and spooned into the moulds. I placed the mould in the freezer and the candy set within 5 mins and the roses came out lovely. After a few tries, I realized that the cooler the melted candy got, the quicker it was to freeze and the nicer the flowers turned out, so maybe let it cool a few mins before you place in the moulds. It tastes exactly as I would expect it to, sweet and pretty artificial, but it's not like it's the main course! It's perfect in small quantities. ... show more

  • Read the Heating Directions
Color: Red
I used the red Melts to make Pokeballs for my son's birthday. I've never had luck with melts before and I realized I was using them in a chocolate melter and that was the problem. Do not use a chocolate melter as these are not chocolate! Read the directions and melt them in the microwave and you will have no problem. The color came out great and they tasted just fine. Hardened quickly and was easy to pop out of silicon molds. ... show more
