Wilson South Side Infinite PutterThe new Wilson line of Infinite putters are inspired by Chicago and designed to perform for you on the greens. Each putter features counter-balanced technology with a heavier grip and a higher balance point to provide more control for a smoother putting stroke. The grip is oversized for greater stability and is made with a new perforated pattern so it feels better in your hands. With six classic head shapes, each is named for a Chicago landmark or neighborhood with theA South Side model being a mallet shape with a center shaft. The putter faces are double milled for consistent impact, roll, and distance control. I wanted to wait to write a review for the putter until I had a chance to play a few rounds and practice with it. My initial impressions after my first practice round was it was very solidly constructed, the quality of the materials are top-notch (I had always associated Wilson with chain department store beginners sets). I am an 8 hasndicap and was switching from an Odyssey Tour Black #8 putter that I had for years because I was really struggling to make putts on a more consistent basis from 6-10 feet. I was very impressed with how easy this putter was to line up and hit solid putts one after another. after several practices sessions and playing a few rounds I felt very confident standing over putts and it felt like every one had a chance to go in. The last round I played I had 28 putts (no 3 putts), 5 birdies (the most I have ever had a round), and 8 1-putts. Everything I was looking at felt like it was going in, even putts that may have been a little off the heal or toe carried speed to the cup. For the price I would recommend giving this wand a try and not just for beginners. The one knock it does have against it is there is a hollow cavity on the back of the putter that produces a pinging sound when you strike a putt. After a while you just dont notice it but I was super distracted by it early on. Pros: Price Quality of materials Alignment lines easy to use and not distracting Larger grip came stock Nice head cover to protect your purchase Elegant design Cons: Audible sound from the club took some getting used to ... show more

I've been struggling with my putting for several years. I totally lost confidence in my old putter. So, I went in search of a new putter. Over the course of the last year, I purchased two different putters. One expensive and the other one was on the cheaper side. Both were mallet style putters. Each felt good on the store's practice putting green before I purchased them, But once I got them on my club's practice green and on the golf course, I saw no improvement in my putting. I then found this putter online at a great price. I thought I would give it a try. I'm glad I did. I haven't putted this well in years. The weight of the putter feels just right in my hands. I like the look of the dark matte finish. I really like the feel of the counter-balance technology in the putter shaft. The ball seems to roll nicely off of the putter's face. The oversized grip is comfortable in my hands. The sightlines on the putter head are easy to see. I especially like the vertical sightline that runs along the top of the putter head. It really makes it easy for me to see that the putter is properly lined up to the hole. I am making more one putts now then I used too. My confidence is back!! First time out on the course with the Buckingham I drained a 12 foot putt. I did have some struggles the rest of the round with distance but I think that was a product of moving from a blade to this mallet and not being used to the weight. My game isn’t great but I avoided any three putts for the round, which is rare. Whatever line I picked I was hitting perfectly. I found the alignment guides to be extremely helpful, although some many find them distracting. The grip also was the perfect size and completely cut out any twists that I used to have with my pistol grip blade putter. Once I get used to it, I expect that it’ll be much easier to drain putts regularly. It looks great too! ... show more

I got this putter to be a "poor man's jailbird" and that's exactly what I got. It has nice even weight to it and is very forgiving. And I really like the feel of the Wilson Infinite pistol grip. The only downside is no face-balanced version of this specific design -- the only version of "The L" has about 45 degrees of toe hang. ... show more
