-Overall Review: I bought the 14-piece set (teal) and I really like it! If you want a complete set and are genuinely interested in learning the game and getting better, I'd recommend the 14- or 16-piece sets but not the 11-piece. -Personal Background for Context: Mid-20s, female, 5'7, ~155lbs (clubs seem to be a good fit for my body btw). I had absolutely zero golf experience before I bought these clubs, but I've been wanting to learn for work reasons. I went golfing once or twice using rental clubs to see if I liked it. I did, so I went to a Dick's Sporting Goods and tried out their different club sets (most Dick's have golf simulators for you to try clubs). Then ordered the one I liked on Amazon. Although I had no golf experience, swinging the club comes very naturally to me because I played ice hockey and field hockey for 20+ yrs. -Pros: Honestly, I don't know exactly what to pay attention to but I think these clubs are pretty good! First of all, they are SO lightweight. I normally walk the course but am still surprised every single time by how lightweight my bag feels. I live where it's pretty cold so most of my golfing has been in ~45 degree weather. This bag has one pretty deep pocket on the back that I use to hold all my balls, tees, glove, etc. and then one very large pocket that runs the length of the entire bag. (There are other pockets, but I don't use them.) I stuff that long pocket with jackets and extra layers. Even so, the bag is still super lightweight! Second, the clubs never reverberate up my hands and sting when it's cold out either. Third, the driver has a pretty good sweet spot! I'm not very consistent yet because I'm just learning so I typically hit my driver anywhere between 180-210 yards. 8-iron around 115 yds. 6-iron around 150 yds. I would say I'm naturally very athletic but I still feel like those are some pretty good numbers for someone who is just learning and I would largely credit the clubs because I'm not even swinging as hard as I possibly can. Fourth, given how well my clubs have performed and the fact that this set comes with enough clubs for me to play a full course, I think this is a great package for the price. Finally, the set looks nice and I like that it's a stand bag because I walk. -Cons: I'm much better at hitting the 5 wood and 5 hybrid than I am my irons. Although I feel like I certainly have all the clubs I need in my 14-piece set to play a complete game of golf, I do wish I bought the 16-piece so that I could have more woods/hybrids in my bag. As I get better, perhaps I will grow to like my irons more. But it's a big jump to go from a driver to a 5 wood. I definitely think it would be helpful to have a 3 or 4 wood too. ... show more

My wife wanted to take up golf, and I wasn't sure how serious she was. I bought this set as a gift because they had great reviews and if she didn't like golf, it wasn't that much of an investment. The clubs are quite impressive, and she has been hitting at a driving range and says they work well. If she decides she likes golf, I will add a club or two and probably invest in a better bag. Well, as a beginner, I take time to do research and read the reviews of starter golf club set! After 2 days of debating, I decided the get this STRATA women 16 pieces made by Callaway! To my surprise, they are good quality and beautiful set of clubs for the price! You can not beat that! They are so light! My first touched golf club was 20 years ago . I am extremely happy with the purchase! Amazing delivered with care! The package cardboard box is thick and the golf bag and clubs were well packed to prevent damage. The Woods even have thick sealed plastic to protect them. and there are 4 covers for the woods. The irons were wrapped with bubble plastic. This set come with the nylon head cover for club in case it rains. It is nice and fancy enough for a beginner! For the price, I absolutely thrilled with the deal! New golfer so research all over before deciding not only to buy this brand but also to buy them on Amazon. Calloway (a brand very well known & respected in the golf world) makes these beginner sets. I’m pleasantly happy with my purchase and with how buying a new beginner set helped me much more with my game than using the 2nd hand set that was given to me. The Strata clubs are lighter and more forgiving for a new golfer like myself. My only complaint is I wish Strata allowed you to get the color you want in any set as I really wanted the pink color but needed more clubs than what was in the pink set. ... show more

As a beginner golfer who was borrowing clubs until I was sure this sport was for me, I cannot say enough of the quality considering the price. I looked at many sets and reviews and decided this was the best purchase as a beginner--all the clubs you need to start out with are there--this IS Callaway's affordable line with great quality--you can buy this set on their website. I am hitting straight more consistently, and love the lightweight bag, with rain cover, numerous side pockets for accessories and rain gear, snacks, etc. as well as outer loops, outer umbrella holder, ease of the stand opening and closing, and the backpack-type harness. For those who might have had an issue with a club, that can happen with any set, especially if you are starting out. Clubs will get a beating by us newbies as well as the pros, but lessons help a great deal. I highly recommend this set. Note that the product description STATES the number of pieces and explains what each piece is, so there is NO misleading information on the number of clubs, etc. that you're getting. Bought them for my GF's bday and she loves them. The putter is little heavy for an affordable club set so you need to go easier than how you normally put. They are very presentable, comes with very durable stand bag and head covers. Irons are definitely up to date with technology and go just as far as an affordable TaylorMade set, or any other affordable Name brand.
