Got this kit to assemble with my 11 year old son as a breakaway from the video games for a Sunday morning. That is about what it took to build and have up and running, powering the Wilesco workshop plate. Note there very small parts - need good eyes or a magnifying glass. Great to have a dexterous kid involved with the build. The steam engine will run in both directions. if you run it the wrong way with any load on it, the threaded components on the flywheel shaft will loosen themselves and come apart occasionally. But it goes back together fine. Very fun and instructive project! ... show more

I do not like the instructions. I do not like the photos. They are not if good quality enough to see what's where on the steamer and wheel. It looks great.
