We got this to use as a ground cover outside our Sprinter/camper van hoping to reduce the amount of dirt and debris we seem to track into the van when set up in remote conditions. The mat comes packed in a plastic storage bag and actually fits into the bag, unlike many similar products that appear to have been vacuum packed into a barely-large-enough-to-fit sleeve. The material is very similar to typical shade-cloth, open woven fairly densely, enough to block most dirt and debris from coming through but not totally waterproof. The material is quite limp, which means in lies flat on uneven surfaces, and the edges and corners lay flat unlike cheap blue-tarps and other similar covers. The material is fairly slick, but with just enough texture to help knock loose dirt and debris off your feet or shoes as you walk. Not abrasive like a door-mat at all, but definitely not slick and smooth like a poly blue tarp. We found this tarp easy to shake out to get most of the dirt and debris off without too much effort. Have not had to do so yet, but from prior experience with shade cloth material I'm certain it will be easy to thoroughly clean without damage using a pressure washer. As other reviewer have noted, the ground pegs are kinda worthless in hard conditions, but steel tent pegs work well. Overall a good product, and if you read the description thoroughly you won't be disappointed in how it performs. If you are looking for a rain-proof, water-proof tarp this isn't for you. If you want a nice ground cover that lies flat, is easy to clean and helps keep the debris down in your camper or tent, this is just the ticket.

I use this mat/tarp for a floor of a 10'x10' tipi tent, and for that use, its great so far. It is a little thin, but that makes it relatively lightweight for the size (which is what I preferred). This is easy to fold, as well as pick up and shake off to clean. There are grommets in each corner and each side, but there (sadly) aren't grommets at the half way point on each side (at the 5' mark). I don't use the plastic stakes or "nails" it comes with, but use metal tent stakes instead.

This is a sturdy mesh tarp that's great to have around to throw on the ground. I've used it beneath a tent and used the extra space to stack up bags and gear and keep things from getting dirty. Note that this is an open, MESH tarp, not the kind of tarp that blocks water. Water won't hurt it but it won't keep the water off anything. The mesh makes it really easy to clean because you just shake it and the sand and dust just falls right off. 8x8 is a really generous size, I think I could have been fine with a 6x6 but I guess it's nice to have the extra room.

DOES NOT KEEP WATER OUT. Wore a white dress to an Easter picnic assuming that I would be safe when sitting on this tarp. I was fooled. The white became see-through quickly and the picnic was no longer family friendly. Leaves and other debris also stick to it easily which is a hassle when folding.

I purposefully got one that would be super big for my tent and would have some overhang, and I’m so glad I did! The material is hard to describe but it’s kind of soft. Like comfortable enough to lay on and not feel like I’m getting all scratched up. Which is cool because that saves me from dirtying up a towel. It’s surprisingly light weight, very easy to carry, a kid carried it no problems. Easy to set up, just lay out and stake down. The stakes are nice, spaced well so it stays nice and secure. Then easy clean up, with it being so large it was easier to have 2 people shake it off and fold it up, took a couple minutes if even. In the morning there was no damp feeling on the floor of the tent, which is always a win because no one likes wet blankets. Honestly a great product and would highly recommend!

This is a nice flooring for use in tents and other casual places. This is mesh, so moisture can get through, don't put this on muddy ground or puddles. But it's nice and solid, and keeps you and your stuff from getting dirty or sitting directly in the dirt. I actually like it lets some water through, as that makes cleaning this up super easy. Just hose it down and hang it to dry. It's a very versatile mat. I've been using it for storing boxes outside temporarily too, so they don't get dirty on the bottom. It's pretty sturdy, so should last years with some care.
