  • Very nice but I don't feel its worth the price
Style: 220-240cm
Went from a $12 field and stream chute paddle to this one. I have a sit on top field and stream eagle talon 12 kayak . The paddle is a tiny bit lighter and kayaked for around 5 hrs yesterday with it. I would say i was slightly less fatigued then with the heavier cheap paddle and did notice the difference but very slightly. I guess its like expensive bicycle stuff every gram is hundreds of dollars difference scheme. I did catch the most fish at one time if that makes a difference :) ... show more

  • Heavy
Style: 220-240cm
I ordered this because it seemed like good value for an adjustable paddle. I paid about $30-60 more than an entry-level paddle that was said to be the same weight as an entry-level paddle. The problem is that isn't the case. I ordered the 220-240cm model and it's 10 oz heavier than the stated weight. This paddle is nearly 3 lbs. By comparison, a person could buy a 220 and 240cm paddle that weighs 35 oz (22% lighter) for about the same as what this paddle costs. On the plus side, the paddle seems very well constructed. The adjustable clamping mechanism is solid and leaves no play in the shafts. The Blade is thick and stiffer than many other reinforced poly blades I've tried, and you get unlimited feathering options for those that need that. I think it would be a nice paddle if they could deliver it at the listed weight of 35 oz and keep the price the same. People pay hundreds to shave 10 oz of weight from their paddle, so I don't really see the appeal given the cost in comparison to less expensive lighter fixed length paddles. It's not like you need adjustability during use unless you are a beginner and have no idea what length paddle to use or you plan to switch boats with paddling companions. Even for beginners, I suggest looking at the sizing guides if you don't know what to buy. They'll get you close enough for casual paddlers and serious paddlers will eventually look to upgrade to a better paddle anyway. ... show more

  • The best
Style: 240-260cm Angler
Anything Wilderness Systems is the best. I just wish they had more Pungo 125's to choose from locally. Not crazy about mango.

  • Recreational to Professional this paddle will shine !
Style: 220-240cm
The “Origin” is ideal for both sit-on-tops and sit-inside kayaks . I’m Tim Perkins a Professional kayak angler , I spend a lot of time on the water . I find that the Origin’s blade design offers me an awesome sense of efficiency and boat control. The Origin offers me a solid lever lock ferrule system with 0-20 cm of fine tuned length adjustment and infinite feathering options with the simple flip of a low profile lever . Which makes this paddle tremendously versatile . Esthetically the Origin has an attractive color scheme and matching drip cups . The strategic placed logos on the blades offers me the ability to support my favorite brand front and back . Awesome paddle especially if your unsure of what you specifically need , because of the tuning adjustments offered . I recommend as a must have ! ... show more

  • Very good paddle
Style: 220-240cm
I'm a new yaker and I wanted something adjustable because I had no idea what size paddle I would be comfortable with. This paddle is awesome! It has so much adjustment for length and feathering and is very sturdy. When it's locked in place it doesn't move even a bit. The paddle blades themselves are nice and stiff also so you get more out of each paddle stroke. This is a great paddle for anyone just starting out and isn't sure exactly what size paddle they need. ... show more

  • Noisy no matter what
Style: 205-225cm
Paddle works well and is cute. But it’s very noisy and I can’t find a way to paddle quietly... I ordered another paddle hoping I can be efficient. - bought a gorgeous kayak without a paddle - borrowed a paddle (too long) - borrowed a paddle - pretty nice! - bought this paddle - good and medium light but loud no matter what. Louder than water hitting my kayak so it seems like a bad/inefficient match. - bought another paddle - will test it soon. Overall it seems nice, I may keep as a backup. But if my paddle can’t be as/more efficient than my boat, why use it? ... show more

  • Perfect paddle for all kayak sizes
Style: 240-260cm Angler
The media could not be loaded. I recently upgraded from a cheap paddle to the new Wilderness Systems Origin Paddle. I have to say, I very happy that I did. The features that I like the most are the adjustability of the length and just the solid feel of the Origin Paddle. The Origin does a great job of moving water, even in a large fishing kayak. Being able to adjust your length, make this a great option for any size kayak or person. ... show more
