These powerful poems incorporate themes close to my heart. Additionally, the ‘practical wisdom' component allows the readers to reflect and examine their own lives, emotions,struggles. I love the line in the beginning of the book, where Gately encourages us to embrace the wildness within us,"The world needs our wildness to rise... It it the part of us that will stand up against suppression and injustice. It’s that part of us that will fiercely protect." It's written in a way that makes it easy to read a few pages a day and reflect, in order to savor the words and insights in this book.

WilD WOMEN RISING: Quote from the book. “Women need to support women to come back into this ‘wild’ side of themselves. To reconnect with the wildness lying dormant within them. To explore it and get comfortable with it … Nurture your body, don’t treat it like a shell that is there to serve you. Give it respect and love and in return, you will glow from the inside out.” I can relate to all of this. “Think of your gifts as medicine which you have brought for this world.” I like it! The writing is courageous, bold, encouraging, enticing as well as nurturing and uplifting. I like it a lot. I needed this. We all need this. Read it, you’ll love it!

This is a really lovely book. Each chapter begins with a poem and ends with a section called ‘practical wisdom,’ that includes exercises designed to bring the insights explored in the poem into daily life. The author deals with a broad range of topics from freedom and self-empowerment to spirit, intuition and energy. She handles all with a grace and kindness that I found inspiring. It’s a passionate book about connecting with our feminine power but I think it would appeal to both men and women - the concept of reconnecting with our souls to allow a deeper knowledge of ourselves is not gender specific. A well-written and thoughtful book. I particularly liked that the author shares experiences from her own life.

Clare has a very unique view of being a woman. A real woman. Compared with the modern feminism (claiming women can do and should do whatever men can do), Clare points out that it is okay to admit we can't do somethings. A true wild woman is to embrace herself as whom she already is. To let go and be free from all social expectation and pressure. "Wild Women Rising" speaks to women with such passion and tenderness, urging women to take great care of themselves to bring a balance to the society.

A powerful book indeed. The poems and reflections on life are wonderfully balanced and keep you reading. Each poem draws you in and gives you a small reflection on the fears, frustrations and desires we all carry with us in life. You can enjoy the poems on their own, or gain a deeper understanding from the aptly titled 'Practical Wisdom' sections at the end of each chapter. Either way it's an excellent read.

Each poem is wonderful and easy to read and prompts thoughts and questions within, followed by helpful thoughts and practical wisdom on how to face problems in our lives as well as how to achieve a fuller, more loving self. I spent my Sunday morning reading this wonderfully written book. I found myself thinking deeps thought by reading the poems and universal truths that I could apply to my own life. I liked the practical wisdom section in each chapter that makes it easy to take action and try a new approach to make a difference in my own life or someone else's life. A book of treasures. Read a chapter each today and reflect on the message.
