Size: 8x10 Color: Black
These are nice frames, there is a hole at the top of one side and if you open the little latch over it you can turn it over and the panels will slide out so you can insert the photo then just slide them back in the frame. This does keep the picture in the frame tightly, but the little latch being on the top can be seen. It doesn't stick up much and is black like the frame so it's not real noticeable but you can definitely see a bump on in the center on top of the frame that is the latch. It's not a big deal and you can barely see it but if you are doing something and want a completely straight edge all the way around this might be an issue. The panels are not glass as the add states but instead are an acrylic plexiglass type of material. It is completely clear and lighter than glass so it would've been fine, and 3 of the 4 worked perfect, unfortunately the 4th one not so much. With the 4th the plexiglass was slightly warped so the panels don't meet together tight enough to keep the picture suspended. The warp causes a slight gap and the way it's constructed there is no way to make it tighter so the picture just falls to the bottom of the frame. It will still work for a 10X12 picture since that fills the whole frame but not for anything smaller because the picture won't stay in the middle of the frame but fall to the bottom with all the clear space on top and that certainly doesn't look right. This still lets you use the frame for a 10X12 picture but I was thinking of using things for a 4 piece display of related photos and wanted the 8X10 or smaller size so it would give that floating effect. Since the 10X12 fully fits the frame there is no clear space and you lose the floating effect so you're left with just a standard black frame. I will still use it but I'll just need to adjust and at least the 3 that float correctly look nice and create a neat effect. Aside from that issue, the frames are otherwise well constructed and all the corner joints meet tightly. These are HUGE! But beautifully made frames! LOVE the quality of these. They are replacing some old frames I had that don't come even close to this level of craftsmanship! They are fragile but sturdy. I am not hanging them but using them on the shelf. I really like the richness of the frame and ease of using them. ... show more
