Style: Bird Toy Set With 5 Birds
I saw this cat toy on Instagram (clearly I watch too many cat videos) My decades of cat ownership had me buying hundreds of toys that are either totally ignored or played with for a minute and then rejected. I figured this too would end up in the reject column but took a chance. It's a great toy! I have a couple of wiggle wands and a feather wand that my cats both like but that requires a human (me) on the other end to make the magic happen. This is the first set-and-forget toy that they continue to play with night after night. here's what's great about it. First, it is a well made, quality cat toy, which is something you really can't take for granted these days. The base sticks firmly to the floor (I may never get it off), the wire is just the right flexibility and maintains its integrity, and the bird is still intact after a month of suffering a horrible fate night after night. Second, it thoughtfully comes with extras (5 birds in total!) and an extra sticker in case you do have to move the base, so you don't have to buy an entirely new set up because you are missing one piece. Third, my cats actually play with it, which is a minor miracle as they are super lazy ragdolls whose default mode is potted plant. I did add a string between the attachment to the wire and the bird because my cats' feet will only leave the ground if food is involved (and maybe not even then). Fourth, it is sturdy. Every morning I find the dead bird on the floor somewhere separated from its tether, which means they really had to rip at it to get the knot to come undone. Fifth, no batteries. Better for the earth and better for my wallet. Finally, I don't have to be involved! I love my cats but let's be real -- playing with them is like playing with a baby -- more fun for them than for you. ... show more

I just bought this toy for my three cats, and I’ve never seen them so entertained! The moment I opened the box, all three of them swarmed it and started playing together—which never happens. They were batting it around, pouncing, and chasing it non-stop. It kept them busy for over an hour, and even my usually shy cat joined in. The media could not be loaded. Great while it lasted, which was two days. Stopped sticking and cleaning doesn't help. Great idea, poor quality execution. My cat loved it the first day but the second day it was on the floor and never stuck again since.

Purchased 12-05-24. Now as of 2-27-25 the cats have completely destroyed all the birds and the base. It is a great toy. The cats play with it for a good hour at a time. So much so that they have gone through all of the birds that came with it. Today I found that they broke the base. The wire no longer stays in as they somehow broke the mechanism. The birds breaking down I can live with. I expected that. The base breaking after two months is why I can only give this 2 stars. I do see that there is now a weighed base available and it looks to be mostly metal instead of plastic. I will give it a try. Hopefully that lasts longer. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. The cats all seem to really enjoy it, and these two (in the video) who normally don't like to share toys had no problem playing with it together. However, I found the suction cup's performance to be somewhat janky since my floor is not completely smooth, and the weighted base stood no chance against the 14-pound behemoth once he started throwing his weight around. Fortunately, I paid more attention in physics than Tyrone or his siblings, and by adding a 10lb weight plate to the top of the weighted base, the two-legged cat in this house came out on top. Big brain always beats big tail! Seriously, though, I will probably put the suction cup down in the basement where the floor is smooth and get another weighted-base version for upstairs. It's not like I'm using those plates for their intended purpose. :-P ... show more
