I wish the maker would have stated the number of cups these bowls hold instead of just the number of ounces (60 oz). When you only list the amount of weight something holds you give a false impression of the volume it can hold. Now, of course, the opposite can also be true. A bowl that is advertised
as holding 42 cups arrived about the same size as these bowls. It makes the set of bowls look SO much SMALLER. Both types of bowls are made of biodegradable materials. Both are much lighter in weight than, say, glass, stoneware, ceramic. The second bowl came with a lid and WILL hold BOTH the weight AND the volume of 42 cups. If I were to make the purchase of the 6 bowls again I would definitely ask the seller how many cups each bowl would hold in volume? Here I didn't need to, but you MAY. For example, let's say you are preparing food for a large gathering. One of the 60 oz, size bowls will hold 7 1/2 eight ounce cups of your potato salad (a total of 3 3/4 pounds). While there MAY be more room left in that bowl, it won't hold more WEIGHT. Yes, it will hold more cups of popcorn that has been popped. But it won't hold what a family will usually go through. Now, the 42 cup will hold 21 POUNDS (336 oz.) of that delicious salad! Each of that large gathering (up to 42) can enjoy a full 8 oz cup of that same salad! Yes, the 42 cup bowl did cost more. But I knew the full weight and volume I was buying when I ordered the 42 cup bowl. I didn't when I ordered the set of 6 60z bowls. I like BOTH purchases. ALL the bowls are super easy to clean...no need to put them through a dishwasher. In photos these different sized bowls look alike. I hope this helps when YOU decide what bowl(s) to purchase. These are great. The large size is great for one large serving -- large salad or anything! A bowl is great for heating up one can of soup in the microwave. A large bowl of cereal? Great! Get a salad from Wendy's or ChicFilA and it easily fits here and can be stirred without spilling. Sturdy, light we

Microwavable without getting to hot

Received the bowls and immediately washed one and put some leftover soup in it. Microwaved it for 4 minutes. Any other bowls I have used would have been to hot to handle bare handed but even though the bowl was warm I could pick it up without mitts. They're very light weight. The fact that they eco f

These bowls are the perfect size for a (Jethro) a bowl of cereal or a bowl of noodles or anything else that you want a deep bowl to keep it from spilling. Highly recommend and I will be back for more. These clean up very easily and work well in the dishwasher too.
