Description

(What's The Story) Morning Glory?, the follow-up to the debut album Definitely Maybe, is Oasis' biggest-selling album with 22 million copies sold worldwide. It was recorded between May and June 1995 in Rockfield Studios, Monmouthshire, with Owen Morris and Noel Gallagher producing. Released on October 2nd 1995 it spent 10 weeks at No.1, is the 5th biggest-selling album in UK chart history and became the band's breakthrough album in the US where it sold 4 million copies. The new edition has been remastered from the original tapes by Ian Cooper at London's Metropolis Studios, supervised by the album's producer Owen Morris. A small army of contributors including original members of the inner circle who were involved in studio and live recordings came together to hunt down unheard demos and live material. The team also unearthed a wealth of never-seen-before photos and vintage memorabilia which will be included in the new artwork. (What's The Story) Morning Glory? is available on standard CD & digital download, Deluxe Edition 3CD & digital download, 12 vinyl LP (with digital download bundle of all bonus CD content) and a Limited Edition Deluxe Box Set. Highlights of the bonus content include: Previously unheard demos of She's Electric and Rockin Chair recorded at Mark Coyle's Manchester studio. Demos of Some Might Say, Hey Now, and Boneheads Bank Holiday recorded by Mark Coyle for the first time at the band's soundcheck at Club Quattro in Tokyo in September 1994 Live recordings from legendary gigs such as Knebworth House, Maine Road Stadium, Earls Court, and Bath Pavilion All of the Morning Glory singles acclaimed B-sides including Talk Tonight, Acquiesce, The Masterplan, and Underneath The Sky.

Vinyl sounds great and looks great
I've read complaints of older represses not being great, but this repress sounds great to me. This also has nice packaging and the bonus lp with unplugged versions of 5 songs. My only complaint is minor - I'm not a big fan of alternate cover art on a classic album. Cover art aside, everything looks great and sounds great and if you are looking to get this album on vinyl, this 30th anniversary deluxe version from Amazon is a great choice ... show more

Great Memories Revisited
First off, to be fair I've always been a big Oasis fan. This 3 CD collection song set is excellent. On the second CD track 13 8s an excellent alternative version of Champaign Supernova. I was curious of the remastered version for sound quality. It's a good remaster that was done in 2009. Oasis alblum production have always been too compressed which really takes away from sound. Note, they are a very loud band. All in all, this was a great value for the money, for the music, and the listening experience. I highly recommend. ... show more

Stunning Presentation, Though Sonically Compressed
This 2014 remastered 180g reissue is a bit of a mixed bag for the serious collector. On one hand, the packaging is top-tier; the tri-fold gatefold is heavy-duty, and having "Bonehead’s Bank Holiday" on vinyl is a must for any Oasis completionist. From a technical standpoint, however, the audio reflects the "Wall of Sound" production style the 90s were known for. It is quite compressed (brickwalled), so don't expect a massive amount of dynamic range or instrumental separation, even on a high-end setup. There is some noticeable "loudness," though the bass definition is punchier than the original CD. If you want a beautiful, brand-new copy of a legendary album for your shelf, this is it. If you’re looking for the best sounding version, then look for the 2009 repress or the original 1995 UK Creation pressing, though they are significantly more expensive. ... show more
