I have an ILCA laser sailboat which I like to sail fast, this means sometimes I dump. Righting the boat is easy, getting back in is a much bigger challenge. This ladder is perfect for that purpose, helping me get a little height to haul myself in. I especially like that it has only a single point to tie off, rather than two anchor points, as I don't really want more ropes to gum up the footwell. The steps float, which helps in finding them. They are very sturdy, don't collapse when you step on them. It's all very lightweight. My only complaint is the all black ladder is harder to see in the water, I would prefer a brighter color. Of course ANY rope ladder is going to swing under on you if lean back. There doesn't exist one that doesn't. If you think its going to magically keep upright without your help don't purchase a rope ladder. You just need to shift your weight to prevent this and it takes some practice. This is an easy portable rope ladder that will attach easily to paddle boards, canoes, Jonboats, etc. it comes on a strong rope that is pretty long. It is easy to shorten the length depending on your height and how much help you need to get back on your device. There are two rungs covered with a thick, comfortable foam. If you have practice using a rope ladder, you won’t have any problems using this as you need, but in my opinion, there is a bit of a learning curve. The rungs easily move forward, so they do not stay stationary. You have to push your weight down and try to keep the ladder rungs from leaning forward as you use them. When you get the hang of it, it offers just enough of a boost. It comes with a Velcro strap to wrap it when you’re not using it and I store it in my tote bag. Super easy. It barely takes up any room. It is working out fine for me. I hope it works out just as well for you. Happy adventuring!

Super easy and comfortable however as soon as you step on it, it swings and you can’t climb. I’d send it back but I threw away the packaging already.
