I was really wanting to avoid having to do this, but this device really is that bad. I had it installed as a replacement for a power pole sportsman that was on the boat since new- a 2015 18' Bossman Skimmer flats skiff. In my first trip out the plastic "knuckle" cracked on the first deployment. I didn't hold it against them, figuring it was defective, and received a replacement with about a week. Shortly thereafter their remote- which is also underbuilt- started to fail with the down button sticking, rendering the pole inoperable. Oh, and they do not have an app for the device so you can't even use your phone as an emergency backup- something they would be well advised to consider. Yes, I did get a replacement remote but that took three weeks to receive. And now the famed knuckle has once again broken, this after literally babying how I use the anchor in comparison with how I could use the power pole. I get the impression this Axis anchor is more comparable with the Power Pole Spike. Had I known this from the start, I would not have bought it; and I regret having wasted over $1k on his device. So, you are well advised to stay away from this product until such time they address these failures and reengineer that knuckle in particular. Being a retired 100 ton Master, I had originally purchased the device because I had faith in the Lewmar name. The fact it was electric was a concern, but the probability of a quieter deployment also made me want to try it. I can say now that was a mistake, and I fear I will have to replace it soon or waste a lot of possible good days on the water with its continued failures. Update as of 04/29 I've been waiting more than two weeks for my replacement parts and they have still not shipped. ... show more

Seems to be built well enough for the price. The end pivot seems to be made of some form of fiberglass reinforced plastic, I think it will be okay if carful when deploying. I will update as I use it. I was concerned about the gas shock, but after extending, it seems pretty alright. Will definitely work for soft lake/river floors. Not sure if it’s just me, but I thought these were sold as a set. I was a little surprised only getting one. ... show more

    • Make sure bolts are tightened before use!!

I like the anchor overall. But the three stars come from bolts being lose. I tightened and fixed . But should not have to do this for a item of great value. Need take more pride in product make sure everything is tight in working order.

It worked well twice, then the mounting bracket broke. Replaced under warranty and broke again on the first outing. Skip this and get a PowerPole.

The media could not be loaded. These anchors are great install was super easy, they function great and the remotes paired up just fine, they got a alot of downward pressure before the relay kicks in so they should anchor just fine, also noted they are the same exact bolt pattern as the power pole brand so you can use power pole accessories as far as mounting, also I hear people saying they are having issues with the up and down feature,when you read the instructions, the latching feature when they auto down and up after each function you have to wait a few seconds for the auto resetting fuses to reset ... show more

Do not waste your money on these. Light use and snapped on both poles we bought in same spot after only 60 days of use. Horrible customer service will not refund or return
