It's great for the price! I consider ash as more towards the grayish side. The reason why ash is added is to reduce the reddish color, which I hate. This is a bit reddish. It can easily be wiped off.

Great pencil for the price! I used Maybelline blonde pencil but you can’t find it in stores and Amazon has doubled the price which is ridiculous so I was out hunting for the next best thing. I have a dozen different eyebrow pencils and could never find the right shade for my brows; too light, too dark, harsh, too hard to put on, making me look like a clown. I am very pleased with this pencil’s taupe color as most taupe brow pencils that I have tested had a decidedly golden or Orange cast. My complexion is pale and pink-toned, so those shades look absolutely terrible on me. Though the color is perfect, I haven’t found it to stay on well. Imagine how embarrassing it was when I absentmindedly scratched above one eye, and later saw the effect in the mirror.
