My dad has an old Electrolux canister and I was able to use these PRETEC attachments on his machine. There are quite a wide variety. I tried them on my Dyson and they didn't work at all even with the various adapters. These do not fit our shop vac. They are pretty narrow and our shop vac has a very large tube - when I ordered them, it did not have any measurements, but the listing seems pretty comprehensive now. It's a nice array of accessories and I especially like the one that looks like many tentacles.

I have two shop vacuums in my garage. One is a large, 12 gallon industrial type on rolling casters. The other is a handheld, battery-powered smaller vacuum. I ordered these accessories for the smaller one, but with the right adapters they can even be used for the larger one. I haven't had a reason to try them on the larger vacuum, but they work well on the smaller one. Nice assortment of brush/wand types for lots of different kinds of jobs. Very satisfied.

The blue filter part that the upholstery crevice accessory (the one with the long white tubes that look like alien tentacles) sits into would be a neat thing to have, but there’s no latching mechanism and it doesn’t fight tightly on the accessory, so the brush falls right off of it. The blue part also doesn’t fit into my hose—it’s too large and the adapters don’t help. So it’s useless. I’m also confused by the adapter with the graduated sized end. If I put the large end on one hose that needs it, not a single one of these tools fits into the smaller end despite the image on the product page that implies they do. Heck, they don’t fit on the larger end either! So what’s that for? The other brushes fit one of my shop vacs fine and are useful, but I’d like to use the alien sofa attachment and I specifically got this set because of the adapter. See, I already have plenty of attachments for one of my machines—all but the alien tentacles attachment, of course! But the other one needs an adapter to use them. This comes with no directions, which is fine because they’re common sense. But if there’s some special trick to using the adapter, I haven’t figured it out!!

This kit has more tools than I need, and I haven’t tried them all yet. The super long crevice tool is great for reaching way under car seats—probably my favorite part of the set. The one that looks like a toothbrush wouldn’t open for me, so I’m not sure if it even works. The long tentacle one didn’t do much either, but there aren’t any instructions, so I might be using it wrong. The build quality isn’t top-notch, but at this price, that’s expected. Use what works for you and leave the rest. I’d buy it again just for that awesome crevice tool.

Overall, this is a nice little set of tools for your shop vac, giving you a couple of unique tools that will really aid in getting stuff clean. The bristle brush attachment is something that I have not seen before and works well to get into some tight places, but as another person said, the blue adaptor is a little odd and doesn’t quite fit the hose. Maybe my shop vac hose is worn from a lot of use, but I am not sure if that is the case and not really sure why they just didn’t make the black part fit the hose. There is also a rubber stepped adaptor that I am not sure what it is for as it did not work on my shop vac. Maybe you have to cut it to fir, but it didn’t seem to be necessary. I really liked the attachment with the right angle, foldable brush head. That will come in handy to reach hard to get to places. Overall, minus those minor oddities, this is well worth the money.
