To be a 5-star item it takes a combination of great execution and/or being a really useful unique product. When I first received this item I almost questioned the first. First, this is surprisingly large. To give you a clue it comes with a warning not to sit on it which exists for a reason - you might be tempted (and probably could). The design is good but it's simply not as tight as it could have been - it's great that there's room to stow two included nozzles but unfortunately they didn't include one or two more or provide a more protected spot for the hose - I think with a bit of extra design time they could have worked it out. Otherwise the design is simple and solid. Large plastic clips lock the top hatch down and hold the top half (the motor) to the bottom half (tank). Note that you can actually reverse their orientation so the hose holder is on the outlet side. This might cause confusion if you reverse it accidentally like I did. Where this thing shines is in it's utility and that's where it continually surprised. I just don't know of any other products this useful and powerful that are portable. In the two weeks I've had it it's followed me into the car, around the house as I've been doing electrical work, onto my roof to clean up after some chimney work and of course up and down the stairs. I've sucked up tons of dirt, gravel and rocks, a broken glass on the deck and simply find myself reaching for it constantly. It's not quite as powerful as the miele, but it's close enough most of the time. As others have said, this thing sucks up the batteries. 10 minutes is just about right for the smaller battery so prepare to ration it's use and/or charge a lot. That's about one or two car vacuuming depending on how often you shut it down. The larger battery is obviously better and with that I don't find myself worrying about rationing. The bottom line is that this is a 5-star item. Few things quite like it exist and there is little doubt that if you own it you'll be happy with it. 1 Year Later: So I came back to say that this is honestly one of my most used tools. Think about it this way - every job uses a different set of tools but almost every job makes a mess, So this is needed all the time. Combine that with general use around the house/car/boat and it's great. Battery life in practice hasn't been a problem at all although I've pretty much dedicated the high capacity 18V to this tool and this tool alone. ... show more

This is a pretty versatile and useful vacuum. I use it all over the house and for the car as well. It's well-designed and easy to use. The two included attachments are decent (but I could use one wider one). I like how the hose and both attachments fit inside when not in use. Of course it's handy that it uses the same batteries and fast-charger as my tools. It can chew through batteries quickly, though; consider a larger battery for it. ... show more

This is a near perfect product except for one inconvenience. If you're planning on using it as a wet vac, you have to remove the air filter first. And most cases the air filter,and contents in the storage bin are dirty and filthy. Unless of course you clean this vac after every use, which is unlikely. This is an inconvenience everytime you have an unexpected wet vac situation, you have to prep the vac before sucking up the liquids, you can't just bring the vac and start sucking up the spillage, otherwise the hepa filter gets soaked with liquid grime, which it is not designed to be, just filthy air only. ... show more

all my tools are Milwaukee so when in the market for a vehicle vacuum and i found out Milwaukee made something that fit that need it was an easy fit. Definitely need multiple batteries to get enough charge to do anything bigger than a midsize sedan but i have a handful of Milwaukee batteries from all my other tools so it was not a big deal for me. it is easy to pick up and move around however i do wish the hose was another foot or so longer, just so you're not having to pick it up and move it to multiple locations throughout use. The suction on this think is no joke though. I've had other smaller handheld vehicle vacuum's and the suction was always lacking, that isn't the case with this vacuum. I also like the different hose attachments that come with it to make getting into the hard to reach places as well as the wider tip for the big flat areas. ... show more

I recently picked up a small battery powered handheld vacuum for my workshop (Found Here) - and it was so convenient that I decided to replace the small shop vac that I use for projects around the house as well. Since I use Milwaukee tools for just about everything, and have half a dozen of their batteries, it was an obvious decision to go with this model. When I received this shop-vac, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it's an updated model compared to the photos on the product page here on Amazon. The way the hose attaches is different; and, it appears to be a significant and worthwhile update - which is confusing since the model number didn't change... It's amazing how much more convenient this is than a corded shop vac! I've found that it's so much easier to use that I don't even hesitate to pull it out far more frequently. On top of that: 1) It packs up and stores far more conveniently since it doesn't have any attachments hanging off of it - or cords that need to be wound up. 2) It's just as powerful as my previous small Craftsman shop vac. 3) The internal hose works great and the onboard attachments actually store within the closed up vac for storage. The only potential downside is that it chews through batteries; but, that isn't a huge problem if you're planning to use it for small projects. I can get about 10-15 minutes of solid use off of a RedLithium XC 4.0 battery pack (Found on This Page) - and you should be able to see in the attached photos that there is plenty of space for their newer/higher capacity battery packs. Overall, If you're looking for an extremely convenient and compact vacuum for small projects - then I would highly recommend giving this a try. ... show more
