Description

The Westinghouse WGen20000TFc tri fuel portable generator with CO sensor produces up to 28,000 peak watts and 20,000 running watts and runs on gasoline, propane, or natural gas. The heavy-duty 999 cc 4-stroke OHV Westinghouse V-Twin engine has a cast-iron sleeve and runs for up to 13 hours at 25% load on a 17.2-gallon gas tank, keeping you powered all day or night with a built-in fuel gauge, automatic low-oil shutdown, and GFCI outlets. Push button electric start and a remote start key fob makes starting easy. At less than 5% THD, you can safely power electronics like computers, phones and TVs. Copper windings help the unit produce cleaner power, run cooler and last longer. There are two 14-50R 50A outlets and two L14-30R 30A outlets. All are transfer-switch and interlock kit ready so they can power major appliances like air conditioners, refrigerators, sump pumps, as well as lights and entertainment centers at once with a single cord hookup. Just plain awesome. Just a couple of days in... This thing is large and heavy and you will need help getting it off of the pallet it is delivered on (an overhead crane or engine lift would be VERY helpful) It will for sure take care of whole house power when needed. It is a bit loud but for myself I do not care, it will take care of power requirements in an emergency. I cannot speak about fuel efficiency yet as it is too new, but If gasoline (17-gallon tank) is used as a backup for propane or natural gas (I prefer these over gasoline so carbon is not built up in the cylinders) I believe it should operate great for many hours. It was very easy to put together having only to install the wheels, lift bar and hook up the negative post of the battery. After assembly, I hooked up my propane bottle and opened the valve, set the fuel source to propane, turned on the battery, pressed the remote start button and it started right up. I look forward to having this generator set up as a permanent fixture to power our home when needed. We lose power around here too often. ... show more

This thing is a beast and easy to use. You'll want help getting it off the palate when it arrives but it's very easy to put the wheels on and get it going. Comes with easy to follow instructions too. We just got it through the 5 hour break in period and we hooked it up to our 2100sqft home for a test run, and it works as expected. It runs our house like we're connected to the grid. This includes our AC. I hope I never need it, but I feel good knowing this thing has the power to run the house. 10/10 would recommend. ... show more

Our WGen20000TFc arrived on time and in Preston’s condition. I was worried when I saw it was shipped from Amazon via Ceva logistics based off all of the negative reviews but I experienced excellent service and delivery from them. The generator is a beast of a machine and you will definitely need some method to get it off of the pallet once the wheels, handle and lifting bracket are installed. I’m lucky and have a tractor with a front end loader, if you aren’t that fortunate you may have to solicit some help from some very strong friends or build some sort of ramp. Had a little trouble getting the wireless remote synced , the instructions don’t mention pressing a red button on the side of the control panel but a quick call to their customer support and we got it synced. Started right up with no difficulties and I let it run for the five hour break in period alternating loads as the instructions indicated. Had to install a soft start in order for it to run my heat pump, when the compressor kicks in it draws about 70 amps and would trip the 50 amp breaker on the generator. After the soft start it ran my heat pump just fine. Now we can enjoy a warm house, cool, wash clothes and even take a hot shower thanks to this generator. For about 25% of the cost of an automatic whole house generator I’m quite pleased. Things to consider, this thing is very loud, used a decimeter all around the generator from about 10 feet away and it averaged 85 decibels, I live in the country so not a big deal but if you lived in town or in a subdivision your neighbors would not like you. Also this thing sucks down the gas, based on my estimates I would probably have to fill it twice in 24 hours if I ran it continuously. Looking into possibly getting a 120 gallon or larger propane tank just for the generator. Do love that it has the capability to run on gasoline, propane or natural gas. During our last outage propane was in short supply but gasoline was available. All in all very pleased with my purchase but will some day invest in an automatic whole house, this thing is very difficult to keep fueled with 5 gallon gas jugs. ... show more

Massive generator with lots of bells and whistles. Bought for home backup in case of power outage. Need to have plan for getting off crate, as unit is heavy. Very easy push start button. Why 4 and not 5 starts…One complaint, the inlet for natural gas/propane is proprietary thread pattern that won’t fit 1/2 or 3/4” FIP or FHT thread pattern, you have to buy the Westinghouse specific brand natural gas line (not included) to run natural gas. It does come with hose with that special fitting and Propane tank connection, but natural gas line not included and it doesn’t state anywhere in Owner’s Manual about specific connection. You can buy just adapter either, Westinghouse only sells as complete gas line for premium price. So, great generator but poor communication on greedy play to force your hand on natural gas line. Just explain in description and include the hose as addition option to complete the purchase. ... show more

This generator is a BEAST!! It is everything I expected from Westinghouse. It was a breeze to assemble, although getting it off the packing crate base took some doing by myself. Added the recommended amount of oil (included in package), connected a propane cylinder and it started right up. I found it a lot quieter than my old Workhouse 5000. My biggest issue was getting it registered, the manual is sorely lacking in this respect. Note: the proper oil filter (Wix 51394 or Fram PH4967) are available at your neighborhood parts store. The replacement air filter is only available from Westinghouse parts, (parts.wpowereq.com) - part number 2296. As of this post, I just ordered the last two filters! ... show more

Product is great. Be careful, have someone help you get it off the skids. Not too loud and very powerful. Electrician will bring out on about a week to hard wire it to house. It's an all electric cabin. Power has failed twice since I moved in 7 months back. This will be a good backup. Using gasoline at this point but may get an LP tank later. Super great price compared to what's out there. Make sure to use it outside (as it produces CO, read warnings) and get an electrician for install. ... show more

I received this today, (6 days early)!!! It didn't take long to put together and fire up. I did do it by myself and I'm 60 years old. It is very heavy but manageable. I connected to propane just for giggles because I plan to hook it up to natural gas. It fired up on the second start cycle. I'm now looking forward to the next power outage. ... show more
