Description

The Westinghouse WGen9500DFc EFI Dual-Fuel Portable Generator with CO Sensor produces up to 12,500 peak watts and 9,500 running watts. As a flexible dual- fuel generator, it runs on gasoline or propane (LPG). The heavy duty 457cc 4-stroke OHV Westinghouse EFI Engine features a cast iron sleeve and runs for up to 15 hours on a 6.6 gallon (25 L) gas tank, keeping you powered through the day or night with built-in fuel gauge, automatic low oil shutdown and GFCI outlets. Electronic fuel injection and push-button electric start makes starting effortless. A remote start key fob offers ease at a distance. A lighted control panel spotlights the transfer switch ready 120/240V 14–50R 50A outlet for home and RV and a 120/240V L14-30R 30A outlet. Either outlet is perfect for whole home backup and can power major appliances like the air conditioner, refrigerator, and sump pump along with lights or entertainment centers all at the same time with a single cord hookup. I have had this unit for about 6 months now and after initial hiccups it has worked flawlessly. I purchased it as a backup generator for my home during power outages and used it twice for short times. I love the flexibility of propane of gas for the unit, and choose to only use propane so I do not need to worry about long-term fuel stability. If I need the 50-amp for more power, I will be sure to get ethanol-free gas from a local station. Moving the generator is easy with the heavy duty wheels, but I do think it would benefit from a longer handle. It pivots smoothly, but I do have to bend quite a bit when moving it, which puts my back in a precarious position. Perhaps a telescoping handle on future models. Noise is as expected for a non-inverter generator, and fuel efficiency is excellent with the EFI. I look forward to having this unit for years to come. Generator came packaged pretty well, there was a couple scuffs on the frame, but nothing that isn't going to happen under normal use anyway so not worried about it, more protection would be better but it's fair. I would like to mention that the process of filling out the warranty is probably as bad as it could be while not being intentional(maybe it is). The section for the model has somewhere in the neighborhood of 197,453 different products to sort through, with no functional way to search or filter them, i'm not even 100% sure I selected the correct model since there's about 97 different models that basically say the same thing with a slightly different letter code attached. So product seems solid(only got it a few days ago), but intentionally difficult to get a proper warranty setup after purchase. I'd rather give it a 3.5 star if that was a thing, but it deserves a 4 more than a 3 i think. ... show more

Great shipping, have had to use it yet but this unit is very heavy duty. Hopefully I will never have to use it but know I have peace of mind. P.S. this will add value to are home if we ever decide to sell it.

We have not used it yet but we set it up and the fact it is dual fuel and has a remote starter is awesome. It has many more features than our old generator had and looks better made. I will update after we get a chance to use it during a power outage.
